Thanos vs Odin: Can The King of Asgard Take Down The Mad Titan?

Thanos vs Odin: Who will win?

This is a battle that cannot take place on the big screen since Odin is dead, and Thanos has not even arrived, but if we were to imagine that who among the two will be the ultimate winner in a catastrophic battle against these two, then the answer would be quite tricky. So here’s an analysis of the powers of these two individuals in order to determine who among the two is going to be victorious in a brawl.

The Mad Titan

Thanos is notably the biggest villain the Avengers have ever had to face. He is the ultimate big bad of the entire Marvel universe and is famous for conquering entire universes in the multiverse. He just becomes unbeatable with the number of powers he has which are the Superhuman strength, durability, endurance, and intelligence, Energy manipulation, Telepathy, Telekinesis, teleportation, and Longevity. Along with this, Thanos gets hold of the Infinity Gauntlet which contains the 6 infinity stones that could wipe out the entire universe with just one blow.

He is known as the Mad Titan by the galactic community and the Dark Lord by his most loyal underlings. He is a very powerful cosmic warlord that rules over a very distant region in outer space. Along with all the powers mentioned above, he commands two massive armies known as the Chitauri and the Outriders. Along with his armies, his loyal generals who are also his children in the MCU are a part of his very evil Black Order. The members of The Black Order include Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, Cull Obsidian and Corvus Glaive. He is also the father of Nebula and Gamora, and with the use of the Infinity Stones, he can control all of these individuals together and with the powers of this unified team combined, he could take out any being in the entire multiverse.

The All-Father

Odin Borson is the son of Bestla and Bor (who was the son of Buri), and he has 3 children (in the MCU), Thor – The God of Thunder, Loki – The God of Mischief and Hela – The Goddess of Death. Hela was Odin’s firstborn, and after that came Thor, and his adopted brother Loki. Odin had two other brothers Vili and Ve who sacrificed themselves in Surtur’s realm in order to save Odin. From there on Odin became the King of Asgard, and grew even more powerful since his Godly powers were joined by the powers of his brothers after they died. Odin was the one who actually created the Humans when he went to Midgard at some point.

Odin has fought with the Celestials, defeated Surtur, the Fire God, battled the God Tempest and many more cosmic beings after conquering peace and establishing peace throughout the 9 realms. He is extremely powerful as he is the King of Norse Gods and possesses vast strength, stamina and durability far greater than a normal Asgardian, along with incredible resistance to magic, resistance to all Earthly diseases and toxins and as a courtesy of the Golden Apples of Idunn, a greatly extended lifespan.  Odin possesses all the abilities of his sons and Daughter, but the extent of his power is much greater than what they possess.

He can manipulate what is an extremely powerful source of energy called ‘The Odin Force’. This allows a number of powers to be granted to Odin like the creation of illusions and force fields, levitation, energy projection, molecular manipulation, communicating telepathically, hypnotism, channeling Thunder and teleportation. The Odin Force has been used for achieving insane feats such as stopping time, transporting the entire human race to an alternate dimension, and it makes Odin as powerful to go toe to toe against the likes of Galactus. Odin with the Odin force is not a cosmic entity anyone would want to mess with.

Odin’s portrayal in the MCU has been rather disappointing as they did cast a great actor for the role, but they portrayed the character in his very old dying age in all three movies, so the viewers who are not familiar with the comics would have no idea as to how insanely powerful Odin is. Thanos, on the other hand, is yet to create havoc in the MCU, so both these individuals are not very well known to the non-comic readers. If a battle between these two were to ever take place, the collateral damage caused could range to the entire Marvel Universe itself.

Odin actually is much stronger than Thanos as he possesses the Odin Force which as mentioned above has allowed him to accomplish unimaginable feats, but Thanos is no less, as he once imprisoned half of the universe once without using the Gauntlet, and the Infinity Gauntlet studded with all 6 singularities does become something which is much powerful than the Odin Force. So, Odin would surely win if he prevents Thanos from using the Infinity Gauntlet, otherwise, the result will be the other way around.
