With the release of Infinity War, Thor has taken the lead as the Strongest Avenger of Earth. With Stormbreaker, Thor is now truly the God of Thunder and Earth’s mightiest hero. Yet there is one guy Thor still has trust issues with. Thor has fought by the side of the Avengers for so long and he has helped them protect the Earth from all kinds of threats. But still. Thor doesn’t trust one guy he has been working along for so long. While off camera they are the best of buddies that is no excuse to excuse a tattle-tale. Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reveals which Avenger cannot be trusted with a secret!!
Can you guess which actor might be the one that Chris is distrustful of?
It’s Mark Ruffalo. The award-winning actor who plays the Incredible Hulk in the MCU is claimed by Thor to be the lousiest at keeping secrets. In an interview with Esquire, Chris Hemsworth had this to say:
“The amount of times he has potentially derailed these films, but he’s also the person I probably love the most. He’s just the most — just one of the kindest people you’ll meet. And so, completely forgivable every time he gives away some plot point. He could get away with murder. Anyone else, it might be highly scrutinized and punished, but he’s beyond forgivable.”
Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo first came together in Avengers of 2012. The God of Thunder and the Jade Giant have been in a lot of movies since then. They would later team up to fight Ultron in Avengers 2, at the end of which Hulk would exile himself to outer space where he ends up in Sakaar which would later become a major location of Thor: Ragnarok.
Mark Ruffalo is infamous for dropping spoilers that sends the whole world into frenzy. At the D-23 Expo last summer, Ruffalo accidentally said ‘half of the actors die’ before quickly correcting himself to ‘everybody dies’. Ruffalo is also the guy who leaked premier footage of Thor: Ragnarok on Social Media in October during the movie’s Global Premiere in Los Angeles. Trying to explain why he did it, Ruffalo was in an interview with Australia’s Channel 10 where he said the Thor: Ragnarok leaked footage fiasco was due to him not learning how to operate the Instagram Live app. He says:
“I don’t know what happened to me that night. I thought I shut it off. They asked me to Instagram Live the backstage stuff that night. Marvel asked me to do that,” Ruffalo said. “I never did Instagram Live! I don’t know how this sh— works!”
“They have no qualms of just canning your ass,” Ruffalo joked, “and there’s a line of people just waiting to play this part.”
Another actor that Chris Hemsworth hasn’t had time to hang out with who just so happens to be an enormous tattle tale that could give Mark Ruffalo a run for his money is Tom Holland. Benedict Cumberbatch had to frequently reign in the actor who would frequently leak spoilers to the audience, although unknowingly, during the movie’s promotional tours.
Thor first appeared in the MCU in Thor (2011). The official film synopsis for Thor reads:
As the son of Odin (Anthony Hopkins), king of the Norse gods, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will soon inherit the throne of Asgard from his aging father. However, on the day that he is to be crowned, Thor reacts with brutality when the gods’ enemies, the Frost Giants, enter the palace in violation of their treaty. As punishment, Odin banishes Thor to Earth. While Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Thor’s brother, plots mischief in Asgard, Thor, now stripped of his powers, faces his greatest threat.
