I’ve got to say that there are a LOT of weird people here on planet earth. Some of them are involved in setting the most bizarre world records you could imagine. And no, I don’t mean breath holding or doing a million crunches, all this is normal in comparison to these “creative” people. Here is a list of 5 of the wackiest records ever set.
1) Longest Fingernails
Many girls I know are always struggling to grow out their nails, nice and long. However, here I feel it is important for me to say that I have never met a friend who wanted to grow her nails over 10 feet long.
Yes, there are people who do that and enjoy doing that. I don’t quite comprehend the satisfaction they get besides having set a world record. How do you go about your day? Have a job interview, how do you shake your potential future boss’s hand? Also, hygiene? Well, to each his/her own!
The latest record has been set by an Indian male. It is only the fingernails of his left hand which he grew out. The combined fingernails length is 6.15 metres!
2) Largest Human Gathering Dressed as Penguins
Just looking at the title of this point, you can comprehend how bored these individuals must have been. The fact that these individuals, got together and decided mutually that one day they would wake up, don a penguin costume and gather together, is what blows my mind. What led them to go through with this is most intriguing. And why penguins?
It was in early 2015, in Australia that 900 people gathered dressed as penguins. They apparently “waddled” to Philipp Island Nature Parks (home of the world famous penguin parade).
3) Heaviest Onion
In 2014, there came a man, who was quite passionate about onions. Tony Glover was so enthusiastic that he grew one, cared for it and raised it to be a nice big fat, heavy onion.
It weighs 18 lbs, 11.5oz which is approximately 8.49 kilograms! It took the time of 11 months for him to obtain this heavy prize. Imagine the amount of tears he’ll shed when cutting that big sucker. Maybe he could cut it next to some of the new Bollywood actresses. They clearly need some help evoking real emotions of pain and sadness.
4) Tallest Mohawk
A mohawk is a hairstyle wherein the sides of the head are shaved and there’s a whop of hair down the centre of the scalp. People like to keep it short and clean, sometimes even colourful. This individual does not like it short.
As of 2012, he grew his mohawk to an impressive 3 feet, 8. 6 inches! Wow, way to gain height brother! Imagine walking through a crowded street, would the crowd just part to let him through? How does he sit inside a car which has a roof, without spoiling his fancy hairdo?
5) Largest Hello Kitty Collection
According to me, this is a slightly disturbing record. As of 2011, this lady has a collection of 4,519 different hello kitty memorabilia. Her hello kitty items range from normal stuff toys to electric fans and even toilet seats!
Apparently her ultimate dream is to live in a house shaped like hello kitty (good luck to her husband!) and eventually have a hello kitty themed funeral with a tombstone resembling the kitty. Obsessed much? Slightly, it seems.
