Fantastic Four: New Report Reveals The Villian For The Movie

Marvel fans have been eagerly awaiting information about the upcoming Fantastic Four film, and a new rumor about who the First Family will be facing as their first Marvel Studios villain has surfaced. Although Doctor Doom won’t be playing the antagonist, insiders have revealed that Galactus and his herald, the Silver Surfer, will be the main antagonists in the upcoming Fantastic Four film in the MCU, which is scheduled for release in 2025.

Insider Jeff Sneider revealed on The Hot Mic podcast that director Matt Shakman intends to “go very cosmic” with this picture and make use of both Galactus and the Silver Surfer. Josh Friedman, who wrote Avatar: The Way of Water, will aim to elevate Fantastic Four to the level that the MCU’s top brass is looking for. He also discussed the change in writers from Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. Fans are not surprised by the choice to use Galactus and the Silver Surfer because they are two of the Fantastic Four’s most recognizable foes.

Furthermore, following their lackluster portrayal in the 2007 movie Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, they are anticipated to be vindicated in the MCU. Galactus was depicted in the previous film as a giant cloud in the sky that did nothing until the Silver Surfer stopped him, disappointing fans. The MCU, therefore, has a fantastic opportunity to present him on screen in a way that will please fans. Additionally, there have been rumors that a Marvel Studios Special Presentation is already in the works.

It will focus on the Silver Surfer and establish his presence in the MCU before Galactus closely follows. The only concern with this move is that Galactus will not be a one-movie villain. With the potential to be on par with past MCU big bads like Thanos or Kang the Conqueror, Galactus could be a major player in the MCU for years to come. Past MCU movies have already teased the cosmic conqueror, and Fantastic Four could be the perfect opportunity to bring him into play in all his glory against Marvel’s First Family.

Despite the excitement surrounding the potential of Galactus and the Silver Surfer in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, Marvel Studios has yet to confirm anything officially. However, with the recent announcement that Jon Watts, the director of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home, will be helming the Fantastic Four movie, it’s clear that Marvel Studios is taking this project seriously. One of Marvel’s most adored superhero quartets, The Fantastic Four, will undoubtedly be featured in the MCU.

Fans are eager to find out how the team will be reintroduced into the MCU and who will play the iconic roles of Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and the Thing. The Fantastic Four movie will be Marvel Studios’ third attempt to bring the team to the big screen after two underwhelming prior attempts, so there is a lot of pressure on the studio. However, fans have reason to be optimistic given Marvel’s track record of producing high-caliber superhero movies. The Fantastic Four will make its theatrical debut on February 14, 2025.

Fans will have to wait until then for additional information and rumors regarding the film, including confirmation of the Silver Surfer and Galactus as potential antagonists.
