2024 Disney+ Show To Feature 8 New Jedi Actors In Star Wars Universe

8 actors will make their Star Wars premiere as new Jedi actors in the upcoming 2024 series The Acolyte, according to Disney+. This new series will dig into the pre-Phantom Menace era when the Jedi Order was at the pinnacle of its strength and influence, as well as the rise of Dark Side powers. Eight of the 11 performers in The Acolyte’s ensemble have already been confirmed to play Jedi roles. Fans of the Star Wars series will be excited since one of them will be portraying a known character from the latest High Republic books.

Amandla Stenberg

Amandla Stenberg, known for her role as Rue in The Hunger Games, is set to lead in The Acolyte, a 2024 Disney+ show. She will play a former Padawan who teams up with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes that involve sinister forces. Although her character’s name is unknown, she appeared in a purple robe and a face mask in the Star Wars Celebration exclusive trailer for the series.

There have been rumors circulating that Stenberg might be playing a double role in The Acolyte, portraying her force-sensitive twin who chose a different path, becoming a Sith assassin instead of a leading Jedi apprentice. Fans are excited to see Stenberg take on this new and challenging role, and they eagerly anticipate the release of the show in 2024.

Lee Jung-Jae

Squid Game’s Lee Jung-Jae is set to make his American debut in The Acolyte, the upcoming Star Wars Disney+ series set in the High Republic era. He will play the male lead as a Jedi Master and former teacher of Amandla Stenberg’s Padawan, who reconnects with her to investigate mysterious crimes. Jung-Jae was also seen briefly in the Star Wars Celebration trailer and was spotted on set in Jedi robes during filming. He previously made comments about the efficiency of Korean productions compared to Hollywood.

Carrie-Anne Moss

Carrie-Anne Moss, known for her iconic role as Trinity in The Matrix, will be joining the Star Wars universe in The Acolyte. She will play a Jedi character who was seemingly targeted for assassination by Amandla Stenberg’s former Padawan in a bar scene from the series trailer, fueling speculation that Stenberg may also portray a villainous Sith assassin. Moss has also made a name for herself in the Marvel universe, playing Jeri Hogarth in “The Defenders Saga” series on Netflix, including Jessica Jones. And now she will be seen as one of the new Jedi actors.

Dafne Keen

In the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte, Dafne Keen is set to play an alien Jedi character who is described as a “pretty badass” lightsaber wielder. Set photos have revealed that Keen has undergone extensive practical work to achieve her alien appearance, and she’s also shown carrying a blaster, which suggests that her character may be proficient in both shooting and lightsaber combat. Keen, who has become a rising star in Hollywood after her breakout roles in Logan and His Dark Materials, is sure to bring her signature intensity to her new role in the Star Wars universe.

Joonas Suotamo – Kelnacca

Joonas Suotamo, who previously played Chewbacca in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, is set to take on a new role in The Acolyte as the Wookiee Jedi Master Kelnacca. Suotamo has expressed his excitement for the role, having always dreamed of playing a Jedi. He will also make history as the first live-action Wookiee Jedi, as previous Jedi Wookiees have only appeared in animated Star Wars content, such as Gungi from The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch.

Rebecca Henderson – Vernestra Rwoh

Rebecca Henderson, best known for her role in Russian Doll, has been confirmed to play the beloved Jedi character Vernestra Rwoh in The Acolyte. Rwoh made her debut in the recent Star Wars High Republic books as a teenage Jedi Knight, and her appearance in the live-action series is highly anticipated by fans of the franchise. Henderson is currently the only member of the cast confirmed to play a familiar character, and her portrayal of Rwoh will mark the character’s first appearance in a live-action production and make her one of the new Jedi actors.

Dean-Charles Chapman

Dean-Charles Chapman, known for his roles in 1917 and Game of Thrones, will be joining the Star Wars franchise as a Jedi in the upcoming series The Acolyte. Chapman was spotted on set in classic brown robes and curly hair, but not much is known about his character yet. This marks Chapman’s second major franchise after his time as Tommen Baratheon in Game of Thrones.

Charlie Barnett

Charlie Barnett, known for his role in the TV series Arrow, is set to join the Star Wars universe as a young Jedi Knight in The Acolyte. Not much is known about his character, except that he will wield a yellow lightsaber and have “cool hair.” Barnett previously worked with The Acolyte’s showrunner, Leslye Headland, on the Netflix original series Russian Doll.

The Acolyte does not have an official release date yet, but it is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2024. Are you excited to see these new Jedi actors? Let us know in the comments.
