Ryan Reynolds and co missed out on D23, but the guy has broken the internet by announcing the release date and his plan for Deadpool 3. Reynolds and Feige have made the impossible possible now. We’ve had Spider-Man: No Way Home making history. September 6, 2024, will become the new No Way Home as it will have Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool reuniting with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in Deadpool 3. But here are seven things that we should expect out of this epic return:
Professor X died in Logan, and he was brought back as an X-Men ‘97 inspired Charles Xavier from an alternate universe. Now we should expect the same with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. He could either hail from Earth-838 of Doctor Strange 2 or be from a whole new universe altogether. But it will not be the same Fox version. We will get a variant Wolverine for sure.
A New Suit
Kevin Feige is all about comic-accurate suits. Almost every hero has worn their comic-accurate outfits in the MCU. And these suits have been a massive part of Phase 4 as well. So, we should finally expect to see Jackman’s Wolverine in a Yellow-Blue-Black outfit. This suit is really hard to pull off in live action. So, let’s see what Marvel is going to come up with.
Lots of Gory Action
Since Deadpool 3 will continue to be an R-Rated venture, we should expect to see a very violent Wolverine just like the one from Logan. There will be blood. Heads will roll, and guts will be stabbed. We should expect a lot of gore out of this one coz it’s not just Wolverine doing all the stabbing. We’ll also have Deadpool and probably even Cable in the whole bloodbath.
Deadpool vs. Wolverine
Deadpool 2 gave us a match-up between Wade and Cable. And it is a trend in the MCU that heroes fight each other now and then (Avengers fought Guardians, Spider-Man fought Doctor Strange, Civil War, and so on). So, Deadpool 3 would give us a brief match-up between Wolverine and Deadpool before uniting them.
Banter and Team Up
Jackman and Reynolds share a funny online banter. So we should expect a Hobbs and Shaw like the banter between Wolverine and Deadpool. The R-Rating would allow a lot of swearing as this two rib each other. But in the end, we would surely get to see them team up and slaughter an army of goons. That would be the main event that draws a Billion Dollars out of our pockets.
Passing The Torch
Everyone knows that Jackman’s Wolverine is coming out of retirement, and he isn’t the permanent solution to MCU’s Wolverine problem. He’ll just be there for a quarter of the movie, and by the end, we should see a new Earth-616-based Wolverine show up to carry the baton from the old guy. Whether the old and the new Wolverine share the screen here remains to be seen.
But Not The Last Outing
Yes, Wolverine is coming out of retirement. But don’t expect it to be his final outing. His actual retirement would have to come in Secret Wars. That will be the case for Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, and Chris Evans’ Captain America. So, it should be the same for Jackman’s Wolverine as well.
