Here’s What You Need to Know About Avengers Infinity War Deleted Scenes!

Avengers: Infinity War is almost here and it’s just 9 days away from its worldwide release. This is the greatest comic book ensemble we have ever seen on the big screen. The scale of the movie is immensely huge as 67 A-List actors will assemble in one epic finale event where they take on the big bad built up in the last 10 magical years of the MCU.

The scale and scope of the movie is gigantic, and the stakes are really high since for the first time in 10 years. Thanos, the Mad Titan will really make his presence be felt by us. He has been built as this big bad which is going to be “10 Times” extreme of what Darth Vader was.

The movie has been described as a Heist movie by the directors of the movie as Thanos is going to collect the 6 Singularities going on a MacGuffin chase along with his evil Black Order and put them onto his gauntlet. He wants to be the most powerful cosmic creature in the universe. He always wanted to do just one thing – destroy half of humanity and power of Infinity stones allows him to do that while ruling the remaining half like a tyrant.

Here’s what the directors, Russo Bros had to say about the film, Avengers: Infinity War:

With “Infinity War,” the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past. The entire movie has that energy of the bad guy being one step ahead of the heroes. We looked at a lot of movies that had that heist-style energy to them, and that brought some inspiration.”

Now, obviously, Avengers: Infinity War being such a humongous event will have a lot of factors from all the 18 movies that have come out in the last 10 years. Plus, having 67 characters in a mega-crossover event would have a huge storyline that will have to come through in a limited time-span.

The final runtime of the movie has now been confirmed, as it will run for 149:09 Minutes, which means almost 2 Hours and 30 minutes. So assuming the credits for this movie will be around 10-12 minutes, the screen time of the story will be around 2 hours and 20 Minutes or so. It is Marvel’s longest movie till date, but just imagine how difficult would it be to incorporate a really complex story with so many characters into this run-time.

Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 were shot almost back to back with just a 2-week break in between. Also, Marvel and Disney have reportedly spent $800 Million to $1 Billion in the production of these two movies. So just imagine how intense the shooting of these two movies would have been. But Infinity War will recover all of it and more given the massive hype surrounding the movie.

Since Infinity War has a huge plot to explain within a limited time, we could imagine that the editing team for this movie would have gone insane removing scenes from this movie as every moment these heroes are on screen, the fans are super pleased. But, still the movie has to be made and hard decisions for deleted scenes from this movie have to be made.

The directors of the movie, Anthony, and Joe Russo recently revealed that Infinity War has tonnes of deleted scenes and the DVD and BluRay versions of the movie will be filled with them as bonus features. Here’s what they said:

“We were very tight with the scripts on Winter Soldier and Civil War, so there weren’t a lot of extras. This is a very big movie with a lot of characters in it, and we played around with a lot of improvisation, because we had new chemistry that we were defining between characters. It was the first time ever that all these characters were on screen together, so we played around with quite a bit of footage, and I think there will be some good stuff for the DVD.”

There are so many superheroes and villains that it is impossible to give equal time and attention to everyone. They will be literally be fighting over screen time which is limited. But surprisingly if there is one Avenger who has maximum onscreen time and would have the least amount of deleted scenes, it is Thor. Here’s what Russos said:

“Interestingly enough, I’ll start out by saying Thanos, even though he’s not a character that had a huge preexisting story in the Marvel universe. He was a threat but he was not developed in any way up to this point. Thanos has an incredible amount of screen time in this film, in a lot of ways I would say it’s his movie. Our job when we make these films — and what we feel is important to us — is to surprise the audience. We wanted to tell a story that they weren’t expecting, and the story is told from the point of view of a villain, which I think is also really unique and risky for a commercial film that will surprise the audience. I think this is a market where the audience really enjoys innovation and disruption, and we want to do something innovative in this space. So I think Thanos has an incredible amount of screen time, and I think you’ll find that Thor has a really interesting arc in the film. He hasn’t been at the forefront of other Avengers movies but he certainly has a very important role in this film. So I’ll say, Thanos and Thor.”
