After DC League of Super-Pets, Black Adam is the next DC movie set to release in the theatres. And as Dwayne Johnson has revealed many times, this film will change the power hierarchy in the DC Universe. There are a lot of powerhouses that the film is bringing in. Besides Black Adam, we’ll have the Justice Society of America, which includes Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, Cyclone, and Hawkman. And with these guys, we should expect plenty of changes in the DCEU. Here’s how Black Adam will change the DCEU forever…
Dwayne Johnson recently spoke to Screen Rant, and here’s what he had to say:
“That footage is a reflection of our tone. That footage is also a reflection of our director’s vision, who wanted to create something that was different; who wanted to create a movie that was disruptive. But also he wanted to create a movie that would start the pendulum swing in the DC universe. In addition to the hierarchy of power that I’ve been talking about, this pendulum swing [will] usher in a new era of the DC Universe. A new antihero era; a new era of tone, and a new era of story. And also, it’s this incredible opportunity that we have at Seven Bucks Productions for Black Adam’s storytelling to build out the DC Universe with disruption and with respect. Listening to the fans, because they’ll always guide you.”
Since WB is not ready to bring Henry Cavill back as Superman, they should have placed Black Adam after The Flash. That way, he would have been a part of the new DC Universe, and his promise to face Superman on the big screen would not have gone in vain. It seems that right now, Black Adam is just trying to market a fight between Adam and Superman without any confirmation that it will ever happen. That’s because Superman is supposed to have another faceless cameo in the movie.
