Doctor Strange 2 Already Revealed the Villain of the Scarlet Witch Solo Movie
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen unparalleled growth in the past couple of years. We expected that the pace of this universe would be slowed down after the events of Endgame and Infinity War, but it seems that things have become even more intense than before. The pandemic might have halted the development and release of content in the MCU in 2020 but this universe got back on track with the advent of 2021 and the release of WandaVision. That show had far-reaching implications. Some, that we are just beginning to understand. Ever since the season finale of that show, fans have been vying for a Scarlet Witch solo movie. They got some respite with the release of Multiverse of Madness, which acted as a true finale for WandaVision.
But there is more to the story of the Scarlet Witch that needs to be told and a separate movie might be the best way to go about it. There is only one small problem in this endeavor, Wanda seems to be too dead to headline her own movie in the MCU. For those of you who haven’t seen Multiverse of Madness, we must warn you that beyond this point there are a lot of *Spoilers For Doctor Strange 2*. So proceed with caution and at your own risk. You have been warned that we will no longer hold anything back when explaining the future of the MCU and that of Wanda herself.
The Villain Of The Scarlet Witch Solo Movie
Ever since the end of WandaVision, fans expected to see Wanda going on a rampage. With Raimi saying that he wanted to make a horror movie, and Strange not having any concrete villains for his sequel except Mordo, the fans knew that Wanda would play the role of the primary antagonist. A Doctor Strange movie was the perfect place to introduce Wanda’s potential for the rampage. She always works better as the anti-hero in the MCU. Her power and uncontrolled rage flow much better that way.
This is also why the horror elements in Multiverse of Madness worked so well and why we think there is a good chance for a Wanda movie to actually happen. You see, Doctor Strange 3 has revealed the villain for the Scarlet Witch solo movie. Ever since the finale of WandaVision, fans had been speculating that pretty soon Chthon and Mount Wundagore will make an appearance in the MCU. This theory came true in Multiverse of Madness when Wong led Wanda to Mount Wundagore so that she could access the Darkhold’s spells.
After her ascension to the throne of Wundagore, a bunch of stuff happened and Wanda decided to collapse the mountain on herself. Many fans assume that this was the end for Wanda and that we would never get to see her again. But we know that that is not the case. We have only seen Wundagore up until now, rest assured Chthon will also make an appearance and try his best to take control of Wanda and her chaos magic powers. There is also a chance that during Wanda’s solo adventure we might see the appearance of Mephisto in the MCU.
The Future
Much like how he offered to save Aunt May in exchange for Peter’s marriage there is a chance that Mephisto will offer Wanda her kids in exchange for her powers, or her life as an Avenger. It is also possible that he might ask Wanda to sacrifice the pursuit of her kids if she wants to be a hero again. All of this is to say that the iron is hot and the studio must strike. The most effective way to do that would be through a Scarlet Witch solo movie.
It remains to be seen whether Wanda has the power to defeat an Elder God (Chthon) with her powers, and without the aid of the Darkhold. Especially when this Elder God is the creator of chaos magic.
