The Secret Weapon of Batman’s Cowl Is More Lethal Than You Could Have Imagined!

We are getting a chance to explore a whole new rendition of Batman this year with Matt Reeves’ take on the character. This won’t be the only rendition of the character that we will get to see as there are a lot more in plans regarding the character and his live-action interpretation. Each live-action interpretation of the character has taken a chance on picking things from DC. This allows for fans to look into interesting details about the character that we can explore in the movies because they aren’t being picked in the movies. There’s a secret weapon of Batman’s Cowl that fans might not have been aware of because it wasn’t explored properly before.

Batman & Weapons

Fans of the caped crusader are well aware that he is always one step ahead of everyone when it comes to his enemies. We have seen him come across some of the worst possible enemies and he deals with them quite well. Each of the problems that he faces gives him a certain amount of experience to deal with the next attack in a lot better form. While he has been put in various vulnerable circumstances, one thing that his enemies have hardly been able to touch is his secret identity. Batman preserves his identity better than any other character in the world of superheroes.

But often there can be circumstances where he might get unmasked against his will. This was seen in the case of The Dark Knight where Batman is unconscious and one of Joker’s goons tries to unmask him. But some sort of failsafe mechanism actually ends up giving a shock to this goon. This is one of the best examples of the fact that the character is always ahead of his enemies. While this mechanism might be something fans might have gotten used to, Batman has one more trick up his sleeve when it comes to making sure he is not unmasked by his opponent.

Secret Weapon of Batman’s Cowl

Batman: Urban Legends brings us some of the most interesting stories surrounding the character of the caped crusader. According to its synopsis:

Batman may be the biggest name in Gotham City, but there are lots of other heroes-and villains-who will get a turn to shine in Batman: Urban Legends, a brand-new monthly series tying into the biggest events in Gotham City. The series begins with these can’t-miss tales:
• Superstar writer Chip Zdarsky enters the world of Gotham City with celebrated Detective Comics and DC Future State: Robin Eternal artist Eddy Barrows for a six-part story chronicling Red Hood’s investigation of a new drug sweeping through Gotham. It’s a night that will change his life forever-and put him in Batman’s crosshairs.
• Writer of the DC Future State “Grifters” story Matthew Rosenberg picks up where he left off, continuing from the pages of Batman #101! Superstar artist Ryan Benjamin joins the team as we learn why Cole Cash is in Gotham in a tale that hints at what Halo might be…and we also get Batman vs. Grifter-round two!…

In the issues before #13, we see that Batman is taken captive by the Russians following an explosion that left him unconscious. He wasn’t alone as his loyal hound Ace was affected by this as well. There we got to see the exciting narrative of Ace forming his own League of Super-Pets after being sent to Gotham’s largest pet cemetery. While Ace might be focused on saving Batman, the Dark Knight manages to show us that he isn’t really vulnerable yet.

Secret Weapon of Batman’s Cowl

In #13, from Mark Russell and Karl Mostert, Batman is seen being held at a Russian nightclub and is brought in front of Col. Andrei Tarkov. The colonel asks his men to unmask the hero and find his true identity. Batman is well prepared with his contingencies for this very moment. The very first of the men going for the attack ends up getting hit by an electric taser as soon as he touches the latter’s cowl. This is something that fans might have been aware of based on its use in the live-action interpretations. But to our absolute surprise, a deadly flamethrower is jetted out from right above one of the eyeholes in Batman’s cowl.

This is a clear indication that it isn’t easy to put down Batman and try to seek his secret identity. He has kept some interesting measures in order to make sure his enemies don’t figure out his secret identity. It is absolutely crazy to imagine that Bats would go for a flamethrower right above his eyes. But then it makes sense considering he doesn’t stop surprising us.
