How Ben Affleck Could Still Be Batman Even With Keaton Coming In

Everything we think we know about the plot of the upcoming The Flash movie might be wrong! While many seem to believe that the movie will be following Barry as he alters the main timeline, we think things will turn out to be a little different. We think that the introduction of Michael Keaton’s Batman in the DCEU will not be the end of Batfleck. Ben Affleck could still be Batman for as long as he wants. Bear with us as we take a shot at explaining the plot of the movie.

The Flash is the second movie of the new DCEU films line-up, right after Black Adam. Judging by the revealed news and leaks, the plot of the movie seems pretty simple. It will follow the story of the Flashpoint Paradox, where the Fastest Man Alive travels back in time to save his mother but returns to a world he had never seen before. Among major changes in the new universe, fans are excited to see Michael Keaton reprise his role as the Caped Crusader for the DCEU. Many are postulating that this will be the end of the Batfleck-era but we think that the movie’s plot will allow them to co-exist. Here’s how.

HOW WILL FLASH CONNECT TIM BURTON’S UNIVERSE WITH THE DCEU?

Initially, we thought that Flash dwindling with time would initiate a domino effect that will canonize Burton’s Universe. But this upset a lot of people because this would dismantle two complex universes. Both the DCEU and Burton’s Universe’s fans wondered if the new Universe will be worth the former two. And they are not wrong. Also, why would a Studio house disregard their most profitable movies (like Batman v Superman and Justice League)? They can’t be that desperate! And that leads to our theory.

Our new theory suggests that 2022’s The Flash will be more like X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Think about it, it can solve all the problems while also keeping fan-favorite Snyderverse canon. It may not have gotten the end it deserved but it was quite good while it lasted. Yes, it might disturb the continuity of the Caped Crusader in movies following Batman Returns, but we are sure Batman fans are willing to change those events. And if retconning its events can save the Snyderverse, we think it’ll be worth it. Plus, our theory allows The Flash to bring back Keaton as Batman while also keeping Batfleck in the picture. What more can you want?!

Yes, this can create problems but it solves more than it creates!

PROBLEMS OUR THEORY MAKES BUT HOW DOES IT SOLVE MORE?

For once, it may create some continuity errors, like the change of the Robin plotline. Say whatever you want to about Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, but the movie did justice with Robin. But it makes up for that by making both the universes canon, thus upsetting way fewer people than if DC canonizes Burton-Verse. Plus, the controversy surrounding the new Batgirl movie, featuring Keaton as its Batman, can also be solved with our theory. Because our theory supports the creation of the multiverse, rather than timeline alteration.

Moreover, for all the J. K. Simmons fans out there, our theory must be a hoot. He has played the role of Commissioner Gordon in both of the Justice League and is rumored to reprise this role for the upcoming Batgirl movie. This might point towards Burton-Verse becoming DCEU canon, but it equally supports the multiverse, too. Plus, if the multiverse will be created, this would also explain J. K. Simmons playing J. Jonah Jameson in the MCU. And Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, for that matter.
