Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D: Life Model Decoys are Coming

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and cool gadgets go hand-in-hand (Re: Coulson, no pun intended). Over three seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has shown the viewers some “wow” gadgets. If you are an agent, even if you lose a limb on duty, don’t worry, Agent Fitz and Simmons can get you a robotic limb. The beauty of the limb is it can control a QUINJET. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 4 is around the corner and here is some news to intrigue the fans.

LMD or LIFE MODEL DECOYS are COMING

A major part of Marvel comics, Life Model Decoy (or L.M.D.) is now an essential part of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 4.  Life Model Decoys are androids designed by S.H.I.E.L.D which can clone all physical aspects of a living person. It is basically a drone which can be can be controlled by the operator. Their design is such that all the physical characteristics like Retina, Finger-prints, Speech patterns and other biological indicators can be cloned by them. They can only be distinguished by a strong EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse).

LMD’s of Nick Fury were common in most Marvel Comics. First set of LMD’s appeared in the comic Strange Tales (1965) where HYDRA was attacked using decoys of Nick Fury.

JOHN HANNAH LIFE MODEL DECOYS

In season 3 Finale, John Hannah who portrays Dr. Holden Radcliffe was seen having a conversation with his A.I., AIDA. He told her, it was her birthday and a female outline appeared behind the chambers. The following words flashed on a screen:

This implies that Life Model Decoys will be a big part of Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D season 4 but it is still unclear in what way.

The showrunners are still casting for the role of AIDA and most likely it won’t be an evil A.I., as they have already done that with Ultron. The addition of LMDs could mean a lot of new tricks and moves on the show, making it awesome.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 returns on Tuesday, September 20 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
