The very next project from MCU is set to come out very soon. This will be the first time that we will get to see the character get any type of interpretation for the screen. Oscar Isaac will be bringing the character to life and we can be sure that it is surely going to be a smash. The actor has managed to show his enthusiasm for the character and he is even responsible for bringing along Ethan Hawke is the prime antagonist of the series. But fans might be surprised to know that Oscar Isaac wasn’t really the very first candidate for the role. Let’s take a look at all the other actors who almost played Moon Knight instead of Oscar Isaac in MCU’s latest Disney+ series.
Keanu Reeves
Keanu Reeves is one of the most popular names in the industry and is not a part of the MCU. The actor has actually given us a fair idea about his fascination with MCU and his interest in taking on some of the interesting characters. He even opened up about there being plans for adding him to the franchise but nothing constructive has come out yet. Even though fans had theorized that he might appear as Ghost Rider or Silver Surfer, the actor was one of the candidates for Moon Knight. With the actor’s recent return to some of the most giant franchises, he would have surely put his magic to this MCU character.
Shia LaBeouf
Shia LaBeouf is one of the stars who is associated with some of the most controversial moments in Hollywood. But that doesn’t change the fact that he was actually one of the top running candidates for the role of Moon Knight. Even though the actor is associated with controversy, one can never deny that he has managed to prove his acting prowess again and again. He has also been a part of massive franchises with his recurring role of Sam Witwicky in the Transformers movies. There’s a certain energy that the actor brings to the screen and he would have been an interesting choice for the role of Moon Knight.
Jensen Ackles
The Supernatural star has been associated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe quite a few times. His role in the show had the elements of what a character in the MCU project is like and this gives him a nice chance for a role in the MCU. Even though the actor won’t be seen as Marc Spector, we will be getting to see him in the role of Soldier Boy in the upcoming season of The Boys.
Rami Malek
Rami Malek has proven his acting prowess over the years when we saw him play a range of characters. It isn’t surprising to hear that he was one of the candidates under consideration for Moon Knight since the actor is American-Egyptian. Even then ethnicity doesn’t really play a factor considering the actor has played a character with split personality disorder and schizophrenia in the AMC series Mr. Robot. This would have helped him convince the audience with his character as he has even won various accolades for playing the role. We are left wondering about Rami Malek’s take on the role of Moon Knight.
Rodrigo Santoro
This ruggedly handsome and versatile actor has some of the most giant characters associated with his name. One of the most popular amongst these has to be his taken on the role of the antagonist from the Zack Snyder movie 300. This clearly ensured his name for the various roles in the MCU amongst other popular fan casting choices. The actor has also given some dramatic performances and it won’t be surprising to see him nail some such roles. Based on his acting prowess he definitely would have proven his own take on the role.
