The Marvel Cinematic Universe has exploded into epic proportions over the last year. The multiverse was introduced to the audience in WandaVision and the sacred timeline was freed in Loki. This meant that everything we had hoped for during The Infinity Saga became a blatant reality and we are now witnessing the slow collapse of the multiverse. The main culprit of these shenanigans is Wanda, who has now transformed into Scarlet Witch with the help of the Darkhold. At end of WandaVision, she was seen sitting outside a secluded cabin in the mountains. It is rumored that Guardians 3 could connect with WandaVision via this mountain. But to explain that, we have to give you a lot of background. So let’s break this down.
You see, this mountain is believed to be Mount Wundagore. Comic fans might be privy to that name as the mountain where numerous comic events took place. This is the place where Chthon is imprisoned in the comics, it is also the place where The High Evolutionary lives, and where Scarlet Witch and Wanda fled to in the comics. This place has been the hub for a lot of storylines and it has a rich history and a very strange connection to Darkhold. We think this place could be the key to furthering Wanda’s story in the MCU. She is on a warpath and many believe that she will be the real villain of Multiverse of Madness. Let us attempt to explain this theory to you the best we can.
Guardians 3 Could Connect With WandaVision
Mount Wundagore is the prison of Chthon and the place where The High Evolutionary has his labs in the comics. Chthon is an ancient being who is considered to be a master of chaos magic. This creature was the one who blessed Wanda with her powers when she was a child. He hoped that she would develop her powers and act as an appropriate vessel for him in the future. The Darkhold is his spellbook. So you can see why people think that the mountain Wanda retreats to after Westview is Mount Wundagore. It is speculated that she is being manipulated by the Darkhold and Chthon. They are corrupting her mind so that Chthon can find a way to escape.
On the other hand, The High Evolutionary is a biologist who made his lab on Mount Wundagore a long time back. This character is obsessed with the idea of evolution and he tries to accelerate the process through horrific scientific experiments. Many people expect that Chukwudi Iwuji will be playing the High Evolutionary in Guardians 3. Some rumors also suggest that it would be this character who would be revealed as the creator of both Rocket and Adam Warlock in the MCU.
If that is the case then the Guardians would be forced to visit him on Mount Wundagore and their story would invariably connect to WandaVision. You see, it is believed that The High Evolutionary is the one who is making sure that Chthon does not escape his prison. We speculate that Wanda will be revealed as the villain in Multiverse of Madness but she will escape Strange’s grasp by the end of the movie.
The Future
She will then come in contact with the Guardians of the Galaxy who will help her defeat The High Evolutionary. This will then be revealed to be Chthon’s plan who will use the opportunity to escape his prison and wreak havoc on the MCU. We expect that Chthon might offer Wanda her kids back after she fails to get them in Multiverse of Madness to bring her to his side. This would make for a very interesting storyline where Guardians 3 could connect to WandaVision.
We hope to see more multiversal monsters and chaos in the upcoming movies. But the one thing we are desperately waiting for is the battle between Wanda and The Illuminati.
