Why No Way Home Prevented The Death Of Spider-Man (Both Maguire & Garfield)

Spider-Man: No Way Home gave the fans of the titular character some of their biggest fanservice moments. Fans got to witness Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield return to their renditions of Spider-Man to appear in the movie. This actually ended up making the past Spider-Man movies canon to the MCU. That’s not all as we also got to witness some improved versions of the villains from those films also make an appearance. There was much discussion regarding if these characters would be given a proper narrative based on so many of them appearing in a single movie. No Way Home was able to do justice to the characters of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men. But a new theory suggests that the movie actually avoided the death of Spider-Man (either Maguire’s or Garfield’s).

No Way Home

The culmination of the Spider-Man movies from MCU took things to a whole new level. This was an extraordinary event for the narrative of the franchise and at the same time for the Spider-Man movies. It was an opportunity for the franchise to take make the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield renditions of Spider-Man canon to the MCU. Their appearance was actually one of the biggest theories surrounding the project before its release. With no confirmation before the release of the movie, fans wondered what the narrative would be and some even considered it to be far-fetched, which it rightfully is.

Death of Spider-Man

Their appearance allowed fans to get a team up for each of the renditions of Spider-Man and this was followed by some exciting moments. We even get them to discuss some of the differences between the narratives that each of these characters shares. We even got to have some insight into what might have happened with these characters following the events of the last time we saw them in their respective movies. They successfully defeat all the villains who had appeared from across the multiverse and found cures for them. The movie ends with each of them being sent back to their own universe. But fans are now wondering if these heroes were also brought from across the multiverse before they would have died.

Fate Of The Villains

One of the most essential narratives in the movie was the fact that we saw the five villains appear first from across the multiverse. When we had last seen three of these five villains, they had died during a fight with their own Spider-Man. The movie actually sees these characters coming to find out that they died and Peter makes an attempt to save them. This also made clear that the other two villains might have faced their death before being brought into the MCU. The movie focuses on making sure that these villains can return to their universe without dying.

Andrew Garfield & Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men

Fans were excited to see the other two Spidey’s appear in the movie. But there was some interest in finding out what might have happened to them because fans didn’t get to see a proper ending to their narrative. Both of the characters had one more movie that was canceled because of certain developmental reasons. No Way Home revealed that Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man continued with his narrative and he even hinted at MJ and the relationship they share. On the other hand, Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man had a darker arc as the character revealed he had now stopped pulling back punches. It makes sense considering his last appearance in the role was actually very sad considering the character saw some major loss.

Death of Spider-Man

Considering both the characters were still fighting as Spider-Man in the world, this might mean that they could have also been in serious circumstances. This means that we could have seen these characters facing some serious fates in their respective universe. But now that they had appeared in the MCU and gotten some changes they might have avoided their fates. Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man seemed to be very happy on meeting the others and that might mean that he will be more hopeful when he returns to his own universe now. Even though Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man was injured, he knows that there are much bigger threats to the world and he might end up preparing for them. This does mean that in a way Spider-Man: No Way Home could have avoided the deaths of the other Spider-Men.
