John Cena Demands For A Peacemaker and Black Adam Project in DCEU

The DC Extended Universe has a rather interesting set of projects that are lined up to come out this year. We will also be getting the very first DC spinoff series in HBO Max. Peacemaker will be based on the character of John Cena from The Suicide Squad and it will pick up his character right where he was left in the movie. Another WWF alumni will also be making his debut in the superhero universe with Black Adam as the titular character. Fans had already started wondering if these two characters will ever be able to meet in a DCEU project. But it seems that the stars themselves want that such a project happens as John Cena has indicated. John Cena has again made it clear that he wants a DCEU crossover project featuring Peacemaker and Black Adam.

John Cena & The Rock

John Cena and Dwayne Johnson have a long history when it comes to wrestling and fans have always wanted to see them appear together in a movie. Cena recently became a part of the Fast & Furious franchise and it felt like now there is a chance this might come true. But Dwayne Johnson leaving the franchise is a clear indication that there’s a lesser chance of that actually happening. But there is a place where we might get to see the two stars coming together in a project. The DCEU introduced John Cena as Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad and the character is rather significant because he is also getting his own spinoff series.

This comes around the same time that we are going to see Dwayne Johnson take on the role of the DC character in the Black Adam solo venture. Black Adam has been under development for quite a long time now and it’s exciting to see it come true. Now that both the characters are surely going to make an appearance in some major DCEU projects, the possibility of them coming together seems a bit more feasible. John Cena has been rather open about it as he made clear that he would love to face-off his WrestleMania opponent in a movie.

Peacemaker and Black Adam

In an interview with ComicBook.com last year, Cena spoke about facing off The Rock’s Black Adam:

You know me. Ready, willing, and able. And answering the phone whenever it rings. I’m good. I think that the excitement is starting to build with fans, whether you talk about the conversation of Fast, or you talk about now the DC Universe. I don’t want to say we’re on a crash course and it’s inevitable. I want to, because I’m a fan. But we’ll see. We’ll see what happens. Tell me what he says.

Cena Still Wants A Peacemaker and Black Adam Project

It seems that the Peacemaker star has not given up on the project and he continues to talk about it. Fans will get to see the first three episodes of Peacemaker on the HBO Max streaming platform. In an interview with ComicBook.com to promote the series, the actor gave us an exciting idea of a poster featuring his character and Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. He said:

That’s one heck of a movie poster, Peacemaker and Black Adam. I’ll leave it at that.

Peacemaker and Black Adam

It would be interesting to see if such a project actually comes through. Peacemaker is an antihero character and we might get to witness his character make a transition in the series. Black Adam on the other hand is rather strong and powerful so it is fairly obvious to say that Peacemaker won’t stand a chance in a faceoff. But this actually gives a chance for John Cena to avenge his WrestleMania defeat. It’d be an interesting nod for WWE fans. Maybe Peacemaker V Black Adam could be the next BvS event in the rebooted DCEU.

Peacemaker will start streaming with the first three episodes set to debut on the HBO Max streaming platform on January 13. Black Adam will be released later this year on July 29.
