14 TV Actors Who Returned Shockingly After Leaving Their Shows
Over the years we have gotten to see a large variety of projects for TV with the nicest collection of narratives. With this many projects, one of the most essential things that attached us to the project has to be the cast of characters. The cast brings us to the narrative and helps us navigate through the world of the movie with a lot to enjoy. Often certain cast members leave these shows midway due to various circumstances. The creators and the developers find some way of building that into the narrative of the character. Other times these characters are just left open for a possible return from the character in the near future. Let’s take a look at some of the TV actors who returned to reprise the characters after having left the show.
Lori Loughlin
Loughlin made her return to acting by appearing in the When Hope Calls December 2021 premiere.
Christopher Meloni
Ahead of the premiere of his spinoff, Law & Order: Organized Crime, fans got to see Meloni appear as Christopher Stabler in Law & Order: SVU.
Josh Charles
Josh Charles’ character was killed off in The Good Wife as the actor left the series but he did return as a ghost in the final season of the series.
Emily Bett Rickards
Rickards made an appearance in the series finale of Arrow even though she had said that she won’t be appearing in the series for season 8.
Chad Michael Murray
Murray made one final appearance in the final season of One Tree Hill after having left the series following the end of season 6.
Scott Weinger
Weinger had joined Full House in Season 5 as D.J.’s boyfriend but had to leave after two seasons. He later returned for the final season of the series and also joined Fuller House.
Nina Dobrev
Dobrev made her appearance as Elena Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries for the final season after having left the series in Season 6.
Connie Britton
Britton had only signed for a single season and thus she left 9-1-1 after season 1 but she made a return in the Season 3 finale.
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi
Polizzi will be seen making a full-time return to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation for Season 5 after two years of not being a part of it.
Daniel Lissing
Daniel Lissing recently announced that he would be appearing “One last time in the red” to his When Calls The Hear Character on GAC Family’s When Hope Calls.
Patrick Dempsey
Dempsey left Grey’s Anatomy back in 2015 but the actor was reunited with his onscreen wife Meredith during the Season 17 premiere.

Raymund had decided to leave Chicago Fire back in 2018 but the actress made a two-episode return in Season 7 and a one-episode return in Season 8.
