One of the biggest rumors before the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home was regarding the appearance of actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the role of their Spider-Man characters. It was an absolutely wild moment to see this fan theory actually come true even though it was something that was highly expected before the release of the movie. The actors returned into their respective versions of Spider-Man perfectly and it became the highlight of the movie. But this might not be the last time we will get to see Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man return to the screens. A new rumor suggests that Andrew Garfield will return as Spider-Man again in the near future following Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Andrew Garfield in No Way Home
One of the most important parts of Spider-Man: No Way Home was definitely the team-up that we got to see between the three Spider-Men. Andrew Garfield took on the role of Spider-Man during the rise of the MCU in the Sony world. The character was much different from the past rendition that we got to see with Tobey Maguire. We got to see Garfield in the two Amazing Spider-Man movies. The second addition to the movies actually failed to connect with the audiences and his run in the role of the character was left right there.
It was not even possible to imagine that we will get to see him return in the role of Spider-Man again. But it came true with his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. When Ned is trying to find out where Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is, he ends up opening a portal to Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man. We see the actor return with the same sort of excitement that we had seen from him in the past. He even takes on the villains that he had taken on in the past- Lizard, and Electro. But this might not actually be the last time we will see the actor as Spider-Man.

Industry insider Daniel Richtman revealed on Twitter that he has heard a possible return of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man. He tweeted, “I also hear Andrew might come back“. This is actually in reference to the initial claims made by Twitter leakers like “MyTimeToShineHello” which claim that Garfield will be returning in the role. The initial tweet suggested that Garfield “could actually come back for MULTIPLE projects” under the Marvel-Sony banner.
What Does This Mean?
Once the Multiverse has been opened we can expect to see a lot of narratives that can be built around it to make for a massively successful run from the characters. Now that we know that we will get to see another trilogy from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man we can expect to see a lot of exciting bits take place in the new movies. We actually got to see a lot from Andrew Garfield’s character in Spider-Man: No Way Home following his appearance through the portal. He even gets some justice done to him in the scene where he actually ends up saving MJ as she falls from the Statue of Liberty.
Fans of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man had been very disappointed when they didn’t get to see a third Amazing Spider-Man film which was already under development. It seems that Sony has successfully redeemed itself by adding the character in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The actor made a perfect return to the character and gave us a visual treat with the return of the unique Spider-Man persona.
We got to see that the ending of the movie suggested that each of the characters were now aware of the Multiverse as they returned to their respective universes. This leaves a massive chance for these characters to return to the MCU if another massive multiversal havoc takes place. The next movie after No Way Home would be Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness and it will feature a lot of further chaos. If the Multiverse is then simplified then definitely we might get a chance to see Andrew Garfield return as Spider-Man once again.
