Iron Man has been one of the most essential characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and his loss is still felt. The impact is so massive that there have been various references even after his sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame. It actually initiated the entire MCU with the first movie and ever since then fans have grown attached to him. Who knew that we will all cry our eyes off as we saw a man in Iron Suit die. Marvel has been trying to fill the massive hole that Iron Man’s death has left by using various other characters. It makes sense considering the end was so good that it would only be a disrespect to bring the character back somehow. Fans have been expecting another Marvel character Nova to make his debut in the MCU sometime soon. It seems that Nova can replace Iron Man perfectly in the MCU. He’s actually the top candidate (even ahead of Ironheart) to do so.
Iron Man
Robert Downey Jr.’s performance in the role of Iron Man is definitely one of the major highlights of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor literally left no chance for someone to replace him and the entire legacy that he has created behind him is still trying to work the loss. Iron Man ends up giving his life in Avengers: Endgame in the final battle by using the Infinity Gauntlet. This actually allowed him to use the powers to finish the Mad Titan and his army. A massive void has been left after his passing and fans are still trying to recover from this.
While the MCU has various plans for future projects and it’s no surprise that there will be references to his character. It even seemed that Marvel was trying to make Tom Holland’s Spider-Man a figure equivalent to the likes of Iron Man in Spider-Man: Far From Home. But there is hardly any possibility that any of our known characters could somehow fill the vacuum. But there’s a possibility that a hero who has been hinted at making a debut into the MCU soon might be able to fill this void. We are talking about Marvel’s Richard Rider, the Nova Centurion from Earth and host of the Nove Force itself. Let’s see how is Nova.
Nova
Richard Rider was chosen randomly by a critical wounder Nova Corps officers after a devastating attack that wiped out the planet Xandar and the Nova Corps. This made him a hero of the earth known as the Human Rocket, as he gained powers of flight, super strength, and energy manipulation which meant he could produce powerful concussive blasts.
Rider took it upon himself to rebuild the Nova Corps so that he could become a proper officer but following another attack on Xandar he again became the Last Nova. This time around he became Nova Prime by wielding the entire power of the Nova Force which was the power source meant of every officer in the Corps. He was hosting the Worldmind which was an AI, quite similar to Tony Stark’s JARVIS, that had a lot of knowledge about Xandar and that helped him by guiding him through his battles. This actually is quite similar to the likes of Iron Man and thus makes him an interesting character to replace his absence.
The MCU can actually introduce Nova considering Xandar was destroyed by Thanos, and thus Nova will serve as the hero of the cosmos. He can even serve as a link from Guardians of the Galaxy considering the various times the character has been a part of this team. Nova can actually end up being an interesting addition who would not actually take much time to become a household name like Iron Man. One of the major factors in doing that would also depend on who Marvel casts for the role but then Marvel has always worked out their casting very well.
