Vin Diesel ends his feud

Reports of a feud between Vin Diesel who plays Dominic Toretto and Dwayne Johnson have filled the media for several years. The two stars didn’t film a single scene together during the making of the eighth film in the franchise, The Fate of the Furious. Johnson walked away from the franchise but Universal Pictures saw the success of the character and wanted to invest in it and keep the star happy. They created a spinoff film that starred Johnson and Jason Statham’s Shaw called Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. The movie has a sequel under development and it will continue after the main series of the film finishes up.

Initially, Johnson did hint that he might return for F10. A few things happened between Diesel and him and it seemed that the feud had come to an end. But recently, he denied that he would return for Fast 10. In fact, his exact statement while speaking with THR was:

“I laughed and I laughed hard. I think everyone had a laugh at that. And I’ll leave it at that. And that I’ve wished them well. I wish them well on Fast 9. And I wish them the best of luck on Fast 10 and Fast 11 and the rest of the Fast & Furious movies they do that will be without me.”

This made us think that the feud between the two movie stars would never end! Fast 10 and 11 would not have had The Rock! But apparently, a major development has happened! Vin Diesel has decided to man up and meet Johnson halfway. It is time for these brothers to unite.

Vin Diesel’s Instagram Post

As the main series of the movie will come to an end it seems that they want Dwayne Johnson to come back and reprise his role. Vin Diesel posted a photo from Fast Five that shows both of them and it was the debut of Johnson’s character. He mentioned that he would like to see Johnson return to play the role in the final movie and that it would be the fitting end to the franchise.

Next to the post he wrote:

My little brother Dwayne… the time has come. The world awaits the finale of Fast 10. As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house. There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes… but the time has come. Legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo. I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10! I say this out of love… but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle you have a very important role to play. Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny.

Recent Updates About The Feud

Recently, Dwayne Johnson had confirmed in an interview that he does not intend to reprise his role in Fast & Furious 10 or 11. He doesn’t have hard feelings about the franchise as he wished his best to the cast and the crew of the upcoming sequels but he was clear that they would be made without him. Other stars associated with the project have also given their response regarding the feud with Tyrese Gibson mentioning his feud with Johnson is over. Ludacris described the feud as a “delicate situation” while comments made by Vin Diesel earlier in the summer clearly indicated that there is still some bad blood between the stars.

Longtime franchise director Justin Lin will be directing Fast & Furious 10 with a release date set for 2023 which means the filming will begin in 2022. Johnson is already associated with multiple projects at the time with a Jungle Cruise sequel at work and there is also the potential for the sequel to his upcoming DCEU project Black Adam. So, if Johnson does decide to end the feud and answer Diesel’s call, it will be interesting to see how he manages his schedule.

He has been called for Fast 10, so he’d probably be back for 11 as well! That’s just awesome! Seeing Statham, Johnson, Diesel, and Cena together along with the rest of the Fast family would be majestic!
