The First Teaser of The Flash Reveals New Suit, Batman, and So Much More

There are some important moments from this year’s FanDome event considering some details revealed about the projects. Surprisingly teasers from some shows and films also made it to the event. This was rather unexpected considering most of these projects were supposed to be still under production. It is very clear that the event was supposed to serve the fans with most of the content. Considering the year the world has had it seems DC took no time to recoup and get back to the audience. The Flash is supposed to be a massive move in the DC universe considering we will get to explore the DC universe this way. We just got the first teaser of The Flash and it is absolutely exciting.

The Flash

Fans have been excited about every single bit of information that has come across regarding The Flash. It is already in production and it is expected to be one of the biggest events in the DCEU. The project will give us a chance to explore the different universes in the DC world as we will get a chance to see Michael Keaton’s Batman in the movie. He will reprise his character from the Tim Burton Batman films. Ben Affleck is also a part of the movie and it only goes to show massive this crossover event will be. It will probably be the first time that we might get to witness two different Batman’s in the same film. The movie is supposed to be based on The Flashpoint Paradox comic books.

First Teaser of The Flash

DC FanDome gave us a first look at the movie in terms of a sneak peek. This comes as a surprise considering the movie is still under production and it was not at all expected to have a first look this much early. The first look gave us a major insight into what we might expect from the movie. It featured two Barry Allen’s from the very starting both played by Ezra Miller. This has to be an indication of the multiverse and one of them has to belong from an alternate universe. We could hear Michael Keaton’s Batman narrating throughout the clip. Barry is then seen donning his new costume inside the Batcave, which he had earlier worn while walking towards what might be his home. This could be indicative of the plot where he tries to bring back his mother using his capabilities. Later we see Barry Allen team up with Sascha Calle’s Supergirl and the Barry Allen from the alternate universe. We get to see Michael Keaton’s Batman from the behind and it is clearly identifiable to him.

There are other hints in the trailer throughout that couldn’t be understood. One particular scene shows Batman’s mask on the floor with some blood around it. It is unclear whether this is the mask for Keaton’s or Ben Affleck’s Batman. Later we also see Flash looking at Supergirl as he puts a cloth over her. It seems we will get to witness the Wayne Estate and Batcave multiple throughout the movie, which is quite similar to the original story in the comics.

Flash will be seen taking Batman’s help and it seems this crossover will see a later of Bruce Wayne mentoring Flash. Another exciting moment saw Flash holding his ring which has been used in comics and cartoons as a source of his costume. It was rather surprising to see that we might have an opportunity to see Keaton’s Batman in action with him donning the costume. The final moments of the trailer also show us Barry taking the cover off from over something that resembles the Batmobile from the Tim Burton Batman films. We don’t actually get to see what’s under but we could hear Barry’s reaction to this revelation.

Christina Hodson, the writer for the film, said about the director Andy Muschietti,

I think Andy’s fantastic. What I loved about IT, The first one, in particular, is that he can do scary, he can do big genre stuff, but he can also do real heart. He can give those characters real emotional depth. And that’s something that I would love to see in Flash.

Muschietti himself seems to be excited about the project and the entire world that this movie will explore. He said,

What captivated me about The Flash is the human drama in it. The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.

The Flash will be directed by Andy Muschietti who has previously helmed projects like IT films. The movie will star Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Ian Loh as a younger version of Barry Allen, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso in yet to be informed roles. The Flash will be released in theaters on November 4, 2022.
