The Suicide Squad – James Gunn Looking to Cast a Seductive Alien Female Villain

The Suicide Squad:

Talking about directors who are in the best spaces of all, James Gunn has to be at the top of that list. Surely The Russo Brothers have had a great 2 years having directed two of the biggest movies of all time, and James Cameron has been involved with the 4 Avatar sequels. But besides them and a few other directors, James Gunn is surely one of the directors that is in the best situation as far as his career is concerned.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Disney

The reason why I’m saying this is because he has been involved with the upcoming movie Brightburn, he is currently directing The Suicide Squad reboot sequel and then he will move on to complete Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. These two Marvel and DC films are what people have been really excited about, ever since they came to know of James Gunn’s involvement in both of them.

While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is a thing of the future, his current priority as everyone knows is The Suicide Squad. Peter Safran, producer from WB has made this clear as he spoke to Jo Blo. He was asked whether there’s any confusion regarding Gunn’s involvement with both of these movies and here’s what he replied:

“No, it was all handled incredibly elegantly, and everybody knows on both sides that Suicide Squad is the priority today and he’ll finish that movie and then everybody knows that his next film will be Guardians. It’s the best of all possible both worlds, I think, for fans and for James Gunn himself.”

Collider revealed the potential roster that James Gunn is looking to bring in his reboot sequel as their report suggested that the new members of the team will include Ratcatcher, King Shark, Polka-Dot Man, and Peacemaker (probably played by Dave Bautista), and the team will obviously be led by Idris Elba’s Deadshot while involving Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn in a limited capacity. Viola Davis has to return as Amanda Waller and Jai Courtney also confirmed that he will be back for the film reprising his role as Captain Boomerang.

That may be it for the Roster, but a new report from Revenge of the Fans suggests that James Gunn is eyeing to make a female Alien as the big bad of this film. So the hoola hooping witch from the first movie is being replaced by an alien femme fatale, with a casting call going out for a 20-30-year-old woman who is comfortable with heavy prosthetics. According to their report, the villain would be “a surly, muscular alien woman.”

As of now, there are not many details for us to point upon a particular character, but with James Gunn being in charge, we can expect it to be a character that most people haven’t necessarily heard of. We’re all expecting great things out of this movie, and hopefully, Gunn’s take upon the film will totally live up to our expectations.

The movie will begin production by the end of this year, and it is expected to take 5-6 months to conclude production. James Gunn will then have 6-7 months to finish the post production, and then begin work upon Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. That’s a pretty tight schedule that he has, but we know that he’d get through it.

So let’s see what happens. The future of the DC films universe is really bright as WB are looking to take things slowly and steadily. Every upcoming movie seems to be offering something unique, and that is why it is right for us to be excited for all of them. Here’s the roster of all the upcoming DC movies:

Shazam! (April 5), Joker (October 4), Birds of Prey (February 13, 2020), Wonder Woman 1984 (June 5, 2020), The Batman (June 25, 2021), The Suicide Squad (August 6, 2021) and Aquaman 2 (December 16, 2022).
