Spider-Man 3: The Superhero Lineup Of No Way Home Includes…

The newest trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has revealed that a number of villains will be coming to the MCU. Most of them will be from older Sony film universes that were thought to be redundant at this point. The return of Doc Ock and Green Goblin (along with many hidden villain reveals) have sent the fandom into a frenzy. People have been speculating that this might be a sinister six set up. While we do agree we think The Superhero Lineup of No Way Home is the most well-kept secret in the trailer. Read on to find out our crazy theory.

Reddit user u/CuriousBuildingBlock posted a very detailed theory in r/MarvelTheories touching on various possibilities from the No Way Home trailer. The most interesting of which is the unveiling of the Superhero Lineup of No Way Home. The user writes:-

“The good guys in No Way Home would be:
Tom Holland (Spider-Man)
Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man)
Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man)
Charlie Cox (Daredevil)
Tom Hardy (Venom)
Miles Morales is a maybe. Aaron Davis was already introduced in the Homecoming movie. Sooner or later they will introduce Miles.”

The idea of having our own Superhero team to fight a Villain team sounds even more fascinating than infinity war. It enables Marvel to raise the stakes without having to give all of these villains screentime for character exposition, mostly because we received all that exposition in previous Sony movies. This would be a smart move on Marvel’s part and will help all of the fans of the previous franchises be excited for the ending to the MCU trilogy. Whatever is the result of Sony-Marvel negotiations we think this will be a worthy send-off to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

Superhero Lineup of No Way Home

The Superhero lineup proposed by the Redditor includes the three Spider-Men from the three franchises (Tom Holland, Tobery Maguire, and Andrew Garfield). It further includes Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and the superhero vigilante Daredevil. The last two entries are a little contentious though. This is because we don’t know if Venom will come to the MCU this early. It is definitely possible with the crossover between Sony and Marvel. But it is unlikely that something of this scale will be pulled off without considerable marketing.

As far as the current scenario is concerned we are yet to receive any indication that Tom Hardy or Venom will appear in No Way Home. While it is highly unlikely that it will happen, there are still some rumors about it along with some vague evidence. It is claimed by the Redditor in the post that Tom Hardy posted a cap that was given only to people who were part of the filming of No Way Home. This post is said to have been deleted subsequently but provides enough basis for the rumor to live another day. Assuming that Venom may appear in No Way Home, the bigger question is about Miles.

Miles Morales is the nephew to Aaron Davis, a character that has already appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Davis becomes a villain called the prowler while Miles becomes the new Spider-Man. This means that there is a possibility that the growth arc in Spider-Man: No Way Home will be focused on Miles Morales rather than Spider-Man. Maybe we will get a live-action iteration of Into The Spiderverse.

The Way Forward

If all of this happens, and if nothing goes wrong. Then there is a very slim chance that the Superhero lineup of No Way Home will be like the one iterated above. It is mere conjecture at this point but the premise is definitely compelling. The great thing about the theory is that it is very detailed. The user goes into extensive details about his reasoning. They continue to expand and they have sort of convinced us about the hero team-up.

A superhero lineup of No Way Home will greatly accentuate the story of the movie. Since the movie has a number of villains the entire movie could be a love letter to the character of Spider-Man. Each Spider-Man fighting their greatest foe along with other Spider-Men. It could even be more fun than Into the Spiderverse because there are more chaotic forces to contend with. Not to mention the chaos caused by the spell that Doctor Strange uses. A clash of the fate of this extent will have earth-shattering repercussions and we can’t wait for the movie.
