Captain Marvel 2 is happening but will be known as The Marvels. Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers won’t lead the adventure solo this time. She will be joined by Teyonah Parris’s Monica Rambeau, who debuted in WandaVision. Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau are all coming together. In the comics, all three of them have shared the same title of Captain Marvel. Hence, it made perfect sense to change the title to The Marvels. But as the movie moves further in production and approaches its principal photography, new information keeps coming in. On that note, the newest addition to the cast hints at the fact that Yon Rogg will return in The Marvels and he won’t be alone.
Yon Rogg Will Return In The Marvels
Last time we saw Jude Law’s Yon Rogg was in Captain Marvel. He was her biggest alliance and mentor until he showed his true self. Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel defeated Yon and was sent off back to the Kree homeworld of Hala. However, this happened almost 30 years ago according to the MCU timeline. So could he return now and pose a serious threat to Captain Marvel?
Recently, according to the IMDb report of the full cast & crew listing, John Humber has now been added to the list of The Marvels. He was a part of the production of Captain Marvel. Reports claim that he will once again return as the assistant to Jude Law(Yon Rogg). But he isn’t alone this time, or so it seems. Joining him is probably another Marvel alongside Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, and Teyonah Parris.
Another addition to the IMDb list is Samantha Jackson. She has reportedly joined the production of The Marvels as the assistant of Shamier Anderson. The latter is reportedly playing another Marvel in the movie. Anderson will be seen in the upcoming John Wick 4. If the listing is right, then Yon Rogg will return in The Marvels. Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-Joon are the newcomers whereas Nia DaCosta will helm the film. As of now, information on The Marvels is scarce. But as the production moves further, more will be revealed.
The Marvels releases on November 11, 2022.
