Black Panther 2 Rumor: Marvel Has Cast One of 2 Huge Namor Related Characters

Black Panther was released in 2018 and left a major impact on the entertainment industry. It was almost too obvious that the movie will get a sequel. But unfortunately, Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) passed away after battling cancer for four years. So, Marvel Studios made it clear that the sequel will respect Boseman’s legacy and not pass on his role to anyone else. Hence, his character, King T’Challa is officially gone. Kevin Feige said that the movie will focus on exploring Wakanda, and also hinted at the debut of Namor. But apart from him, it looks like a Black Panther 2 rumor is circulating regarding his cousin, Namora. Take a look:

Black Panther 2 Rumor Suggests Namora’s Casting

First of all, it is reported that Tenoch Huerta is the one who will play Namor in the upcoming sequel. It was first reported by The Illuminerdi that there were casting calls for Namora and Attuma. However, it now seems that Namora has been already cast in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Remember, this is still a rumor as the news has not been confirmed by Disney or Marvel.

Black Panther 2 Rumor

Murphy’s Multiverse claims that actress Mabel Cadena has joined the cast as Namora. According to the casting call, she checks all the boxes. The search was for a Hispanic or Latino actress, 20-40, with previous experience in physical roles. Cadena is a 30 yr-old Mexican actress who was previously worked in Dance of the 41 and Hernan. Moreover, it was noticed that Huerta has been interacting with the actress. So even if this is a rumor, there’s a lot of evidence to prove this.

Speaking of Namora, she’s one of the original members of the Agents of Atlas. So to sum it up, she’s actually a pretty big deal and it makes sense to introduce her alongside Namor. Undoubtedly, she is a major Atlantean character. Her original name was Aquaria Neptunia but was nicknamed “Namora” in honor of her cousin Namor. She first appeared in Marvel Mystery Comics #82 (May 1947).
