Deadpool’s Ferris Bueller homage
One of the most famous and R rated movies of the century gave adults a slight taste of the flavor called Deadpool. From the opening credits with references to Ryan Reynolds as the ‘God’s perfect idiot’ and director Tim Miller being referred to as ‘Overpaid tool’. Deadpool was about a mercenary who suffers from a terminal illness and agrees to undergo a government-led medical procedure for a chance to getting cured and leading a normal life but ends up getting regenerative powers which also triggers his terminal illness to spread across his body, thus the full-body costume.
Deadpool singlehandedly saved Ryan Reynolds’s career and in the process ended up becoming the highest-grossing R-rated movie. At the end of the Deadpool movie, in sort of a homage to a legendary movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” Ryan Reynolds makes an entry post-credits while wearing Ferris Bueller’s bathrobe and mocking the audience to leave as there was nothing left to see. Eventually admitting that Cable will appear in the movie’s next sequel.
