Avengers 4 Theory – Here’s Why Nick Fury Already Knew About the Thanos Snap

Infinity War shocked us all by the horrific dark ending it had to portray, as all of a sudden we got to see so much death and destruction. Right at the moment, we all thought that Thor would have git him for good. But unfortunately, the big Thanos Snap got half the population of the entire Universe. The last person to perish in Infinity War was none other than the person who brought the Avengers together, Nick Fury. Now, Avengers 4 is supposed to bring back all the disintegrated characters back.

Nick Fury should get the award for appearing in the most number of Post Credits Scene. It started with Iron Man, continued with Thor & Captain America, and then finally it happened once again in Avengers: Infinity War after a long time. And that scene led to the demise of our favourite spy who died with his trade mark final word “motherf*****”. Now what was really interesting in that scene was that Infinity War ended with the Easter Egg of Captain Marvel as Fury called her up through his pager.

The thing to be noted here was that as soon as Fury saw Hill getting disintegrated, he instantly ran to get is pager from the car, and if we look at him clearly, he is not at all shocked, rather he seems to be aware of what is happening in the particular moment. This gives rise to a fan theory pointed by the Reddit user sjvkrgr1which suggests that Nick Fury might have somehow seen the future through his association with Captain Marvel and that could possibly explain the reason why he called Captain Marvel just now after Thanos completed his mission and not before that.

So if he might have seen this sort of future, Captain Marvel might have told him the fact that he should contact her right after something of these sorts may happen, which is why Fury never mentioned of her or called her during any other catastrophes of the three Phases until Infinity War. the theory of this fan also points out to the fact that Fury really knew Stark’s importance in the future of the MCU, which is why he went to great lengths to help him out during his self-destructive phase in Iron Man 2.

He obviously wanted to protect Stark from himself but he was actually the one to give him the sort of push that he needed to save the world. He showed up to put Stark on the right direction in Age of Ultron as well. So just like Doctor Strange saw how Important Tony might be post snap, Fury must have also seen the same thing. But still, it is just a theory so everything should be taken as a grain of salt.

You may be thinking that how could Fury see the future. Well, it is highly unlikely that he might have, but it is Marvel and there is a possibility for that to happen. We will only find out about this in next year’s Captain Marvel when we will see a young Fury and the plot of the movie will explain why the MCU has been quiet about Captain Marvel till now.

One thing we know for sure is the fact that Fury will also return in Avengers 4 and he will be amongst all the characters who would return after their disintegration from Avengers: Infinity War as Sebastian (Winter Soldier) has made sure of that. Here’s what he said:

“There was one scene, I think, we had where everybody was there. I can’t really talk about that scene, but I knew it took them three months in planning this scene to have everyone there. You look around and you just saw everyone from Samuel L. Jackson to Michael Douglas to Michelle Pfeiffer. Everybody was there.”
