Justice League – Zack Snyder Reveals Darkseid, Teases Martian Manhunter & More

Upon the launch of HBO Max, Zack Snyder gave us our first look at Darkseid. Previously, we did see the following image in a black and white color pallet, but now Snyder has given us a look at the character in full color. What this image reveals is that Darkseid was a part of the ancient battle that originally took place with him instead of Steppenwolf. Take a look:

This battle doesn’t give us a look at Darkseid in his full form. He may not have acquired the Omega Beam just yet. The character we see in the above image is actually the younger version of Darkseid, Uxas. Although, Darkseid is supposed to have a significant role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League as he will be the one pulling the strings from behind the scenes, and we will also see him in his full form at the very end of the film (or series).

Darkseid actor Ray Porter talked about voicing Darkseid. In his interview with LightCast, he said:

“You’ll hear it when I hear it. I went through a few different sort of vocal gymnastic things in kind of trying to figure out the voice. I needed it to be understandable, but it needed to be a voice that was not of this Earth. And that’s what I tried to go for. I can’t wait to hear it either, because also, while I did this voice and everybody was really, really nice about it. I know that in post they probably did stuff to it, and I can’t wait to hear that. Plus, the voice that I did, it wouldn’t be something that I could really project. It’s hard, hard on the vocal cords.”

Ray Porter recently spoke about the possibility of appearing in the New Gods movie that director Ava DuVernay is working upon. He was asked about being approached for the role of DC’s big bad, and he replied:

“No, I have not. I know a lot of people on Twitter have been making noise about it and I’m really grateful, and I love that, and obviously I’d love to hear from Ava about New Gods, but I also respect that Ava’s got a vision for this project. And if I’m not a part of that vision, that’s just the way it is, and that’s okay. My hope is that it’s something the fans are going to love as well. But I haven’t heard from Ava yet.”

Well, fans are still campaigning for Porter to appear in New Gods after Zack Snyder’s Justice League. But even if Darkseid doesn’t appear in that film, it’d be okay as we’re getting to see a bit of him in Justice League. Zack Snyder thanked fans for making the Snyder Cut possible. And along with his thank you message, we also got a tease for Martian Manhunter on his wall. Snyder said:

“You know as well as I do that none of this would be at all possible without your incredible dedication and incredible perseverance. This whole thing started and I thought it’s amazing that these guys want to see what I made, but I was sure it would go away. And it didn’t. Not only did it not go away, but it started to become a real movement, and I saw it raise awareness for AFSP. I saw it bring in a giant group of people together, and I saw one voice that changed the world at made anything possible. So for that I just want to say thank you. Guys are amazing.”

Well, along with the teases for the appearances of Martian Manhunter & Darkseid, we want to leave you with another tiny piece of information. Very recently we got to hear from WarnerMedia CEO Bob Greenblatt said that Zack Snyder’s Justice League is going to cost way more than just $30 million. And now, a source close to Cosmicbook.news states that the cost of visual effects could go up to $80 Million. Just imagine, WB had already spent around $300 Million upon Justice League previously. And now they’ve gotta spend $80 Million more. They made Joker for $120 Million (including Marketing). And that movie went on to make over $1 Billion. Let’s hope Zack Snyder’s Justice League will also be a success.
