The Batman Set Photos Reveal First Look at Bruce Wayne & Penguin

The Batman has finally begun filming. The next 2-3 months are going to be quite amazing as we’re definitely going to get a slew of set photos. Let’s not talk about the future just yet. Let’s talk about the present as we’ve already got a bunch of photos which have seemingly given us the first look at Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin. First of all, check out Bruce Wayne:

We don’t actually see Pattinson’s face in this photo as it could very well be a stunt double. But still, it’s a pretty comic accurate look as we seem to have found the exact inspiration upon this particular set design. Take a look:

Well shot action sequences involving motorcycles are always awesome, so let’s just hope that this is one of those sequences. Talking about action, we’ve also got a new video that shows the Gotham Police in action. Here, have a look:

Last but not the least, we’ve also seemingly got our first look at Penguin in The Batman. Matt Reeves has already confirmed that Colin Farrell is going to play Penguin, and now we’ve got this blurry image showing him holding Penguin’s trademark Umbrella. Take a look:

How amazing would it be if Farrell’s version of the Penguin would actually be a good hand to hand combatant as well? This way we’d actually get a worthy final battle between Batman, the Penguin & his henchmen. It has been reported that this film will be a murder mystery story involving a bunch of other Batman villains along with the Penguin. Matt Reeves has already claimed that the Rogues Gallery of Batman will be on display. He said:

“Warner Bros. has been incredibly supportive and given me a lot of time and shared the same passion that I do for this story. There will be a Rogues Gallery. The casting process will begin shortly. We’re starting to put together our battle plan. I’m doing another pass on the script and we’ll begin some long-lead stuff to start developing conceptual things.”

This movie will establish Batman as the World’s Number 1. Detective. Reeves has said in the past that he’s going to tell a Noir-Batman themed story:

“It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been. I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”

Since it’s going to be a murder mystery, we can imagine that the Riddler will be involved. Reeves revealed that Paul Dano will play Edward Nashton (The Riddler). But rumor has it that Matt Reeves is changing his role in the Batman. It is not fully decided yet, but either Oswald Cobbelpot (Penguin) or Harvey Dent (Two-Face) played by Peter Sarsgard will turn out to be the real Edward Nygma aka The Riddler. The rest cast of this movie is quite amazing as Zoe Kravitz is going to play Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, Geffrey Wright is playing Jim Gordon, John Turturro will play Carmine Falcone and most importantly, Andy Serkis will play the infamous butler, Alfred Pennyworth.

We’ve been promised that we’d get to see the first trailer at Brazil Comic Con next Experience December. The Batman releases on June 25, 2021.
