Marvel Revealed a Release Date For X-Men:
In the next 4 years we’re going to get at least 25 MCU cannon projects, if not more. From 2021 onwards, Marvel is launching 4 movies per year. Now we know every film coming till 2021, there’s a high probability that one of the 8 films from 2022 will be Deadpool. If Deadpool comes into the MCU, then we can be sure that the X-Men are not going to be far behind because the concept of Mutants will have been introduced with Deadpool itself. So what if, one of the 8 films starting from 2022 to 2023 is actually Marvel’s X-Men movie?
We can be sure of the fact that Marvel’s X-Men movie will not come out in 2022 because that would be too soon and there are other projects which are at a higher priority right now. And since the Fantastic Four will get a release sooner than the X-Men, we can be sure that if Marvel’s X-Men do get a release in 2023, then it’d be on November 3, 2023.
There are going to be 3 possibilities of X-Men’s release –
- Avengers 5 comes out in May 2023 & X-Men gets a November 2023 release.
- Avengers 5 comes out in May 2024 but X-Men releases in November 2023.
- Avengers 5 comes out in May 2024 & X-Men follows it in 2024.
Possibility Number 1
Marvel’s New Avengers movie could get scheduled on May 5, 2023 and Deadpool may or may not be a part of the film. If the next Avengers movie does get this date then the X-Men will obviously be established after it. That means we won’t be the X-Men meet the Avengers until Avengers 6 or something like that. If this possibility is followed, then the other 6 movies that we would see from 2022 to 2023 are – Deadpool/ Blade, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp 3, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Captain Marvel & Fantastic Four.
Possibility Number 2
Bob Iger recently claimed that we are in a post Avengers world now. And with that it seems that we won’t be seeing an Avengers movie until May 2024. And that means the May 2023 release date could be taken either by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 or the Fantastic Four. But in this possibility we’re considering that Marvel would want to bring the X-Men in Avengers 5. So, if that’s the case then Marvel’s X-Men movie will surely get November 3, 2023 release date. Other than X-Men, the other 7 films that we would see from 2022 to 2023 are – Deadpool, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp 3, Blade, Captain Marvel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 & Fantastic Four.
Possibility Number 3
Kevin Feige stated that there would be some time before we’d see the X-Men step into the MCU. And in this possibility, Avengers 5 will also arrive in 2024, and the X-Men will follow it. If this is the case then the 8 films that we would see from 2022 through 2023 will be – Deadpool, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp 3, Blade, Captain Marvel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Fantastic Four & Eternals 2.
Well, let’s see what happens. Marvel’s future is huge and there’s a lot that could happen. Black Widow is going to kick off the future slate on May 1. Here’s how the rest of the Phase 4 slate looks like – The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in Fall 2020, The Eternals on November 6, 2020, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on February 12, 2021, WandaVision in Spring 2021, Loki in Spring 2021, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 7, 2021, Spider-Man 3 on July 16, 2021, What If? In Summer 2021, Hawkeye in Fall 2021, and Thor: Love and Thunder on November 5, 2021.
