The Best Year For Superhero Movies of This Decade Ranked
Best Superhero Movies of This Decade:
The Superhero Genre has taken the world by storm as the fans just can’t get enough of it. People have always looked up to Superheroes. We have known these characters since we were small kids and to be able to watch these larger than life characters on the big screen is a dream come true for any fan.
#10: 2010
Notable Superhero Movies: Iron Man 2, Megamind, Kick-Ass, Griff The Invisible, Super
No one really cared about the superhero genre at this point as the genre was just starting to take off. Iron Man was an amazing movie and the fans were really looking forward to the sequel, and they were not disappointed (mostly).
#9: 2013
Notable Superhero Movies: Iron Man 3, Thor The Dark World, Man of Steel, The Wolverine, Kick-Ass 2
2013 was not really a good year for Marvel as Iron Man 3 and Thor The Dark World were bashed by the fans continuously, even though these movies made millions at the box office. DC took a risk by releasing a dark and gritty version of Superman, but as you all know, some people always want more.
#8: 2015
Notable Superhero Movies: Avengers Age of Ultron, Ant-man, Fantastic Four, Batkid Begins, Batman Vs Robin, Turbo Kid, Justice League Gods and Monsters
The much-awaited sequel to the Avengers was released this year and the fans’ reaction was mixed, as Ultron is a pretty big figure in the Marvel universe and some fans thought that Marvel did not give much importance to the character. DC has always produced amazing animated movies and they did that in 2015 as well.
#7: 2011
Notable Superhero Movies: X-men First Class, The Amazing Spider-Man, Captain America The First Avenger, Thor, Green Lantern, The Green Hornet
A lot of origin movies came out this year but only a few of them managed to leave a mark. Captain America The First Avenger and Thor were just average stories, but the comic fans loved it as they were finally seeing their favorite superheroes on the big screen.
#6: 2016
Notable Superhero Movies: Captain America Civil War, Deadpool, Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice, X-Men Apocalypse, Doctor Strange, Suicide Squad
2016 was the year when all the superheroes were fighting each other, be it DC or Marvel. Both the studios produced amazing movies. Say whatever you want to about Batman V Superman, but the fight sequence between the two giants was one of the best superhero moments ever.
#5: 2012
Notable Superhero Movies: The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, Dredd
2012 redefined the whole Superhero genre as The Avengers came out that year and after that movie, everything changed. The movie was ground-breaking as we finally got to see our favorite superheroes band together to fight evil. The legendary Dark Knight saga came to an end this year as well.
#4: 2014
Notable Superhero Movies: Captain America The Winter Soldier, X-Men Days of Future Past, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Amazing Spider-man 2
Captain America Winter Soldier is quite possibly one of the best Marvel movies to date as it relied on the plot, which was just amazing. Guardians of the Galaxy was surprisingly good and Fox was finally able to produce a good X-Men movie. It was a good year for all the studios except DC.
#3: 2019
Notable Superhero Movies: Avengers – Endgame, Joker, Captain Marvel, Shazam, Spider-Man Far From Home, Dark Phoenix
2019 was almost Marvel’s year as The Infinity Stone saga finally came to an epic conclusion and apart from that Captain Marvel and Spider-Far From Home earned more than a billion dollars at the box office, but DC released the Clown and managed to stop Marvel’s reign.
#2: 2017
Notable Superhero Movies: Logan, Thor – Ragnarök, Wonder Woman, Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2, The Lego Batman Movie, Spider-Man Homecoming, Justice League
Hugh Jackman’s last appearance as The Wolverine had to be something special and fans were not disappointed at all as Logan was amazing. We finally got a female-led superhero movie that was good and surprisingly it wasn’t a Marvel movie.
#1: 2018
Notable Superhero Movies: Avengers – Infinity War, Black Panther, Aquaman, Incredibles 2, Deadpool 2, Venom, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
2018 was undoubtedly the best year for Superhero movies as not even a single movie was dull. Thanos finally made his move, we got to explore the world of Wakanda and Atlantis, Deadpool got more budget, and we got one of the best Spider-Man movies ever. Do you really need anything more?
