The Hitman’s Bodyguard Sequel:
There were a lot of fans out there who loved the chemistry between Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds in the movie ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’, but the critics didn’t like the plot and also the execution of the movie but it was the bond and scintillating chemistry between Reynolds and Samuel which saved the film and also pushed the makers of the film to produce another one and the time has come when it has been announced officially that both these characters are returning back in the sequel of the movie.
In the first movie, we saw that Ryan Reynolds played the character of Michael Bryce, who was a former CIA officer and triple-A-rated executive protection agent and the performance he gave in the movie was phenomenal.
On the other side, it was the character of Samuel L. Jackson who portrayed the role of Darius Kincaid, who was one of the most infamous hitmen and also the husband of Sonia whose role has been portrayed by Salma Hayek in the movie.
In the movie, we saw a lot of action and comedy but it was the storyline which was the weak point. The audience, on the other side, enjoyed the movie and compared it to movies like Johnny English and Taken as Reynolds’ trademark comedic style and the acting of Samuel on top of that created a great and entertaining movie. But, the movie couldn’t prove its worth at the box-office and fell apart.
The sequel of the movie is going to be called as ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’ and is going to be directed by Patrick Hughes again. With new writers coming in order to eliminate the only loophole in the first movie and in a hope that the upcoming movie will have a better storyline as Brandon and Phillip Murphy are coming for this one.
If we talk about the potential date of the release of the movie than it’s really hard to say one because till now the only thing we know is that the production of this movie is going to start somewhere in the middle of next year’s March.
There are chances that we will see Salma Hayek in a bigger role in this movie as if we go by the name of the movie than we can clearly see that the makers of the movie are openly stating that the focus is going to be on the character of Sonia Kincaid, who is the wife of Darius Kincaid.
Salma Hayek is going to reprise her role in the movie with Samuel L. Jackson also reprising his role which he nailed it in the first one. There are very high chances that the makers of the movie want to uplift the character of Darius in the upcoming movie ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’.
So, there are a lot of chances this time around that we will have a far better movie in comparison to the first one because in this one the makers of the movie are going to use the character of Salma Hayek after she was left unused in the original film and a lot of fans were unhappy because we all know what a great actress she is.
Also, with the news of Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson returning to bring their incredible chemistry on the big screen, there are chances that maybe, this is going to be one of those movies whose original movie was a disaster but it was the characters which pushed the makers to bring another one and taste the success after it.
Also, Samuel L. Jackson also told in an interview back in time when the first movie released, about the qualities of Ryan Reynolds in terms of producing humor and also what he thinks about doing comedy scenes and how much improvisation an actor needs in order to do. He said,
“Everybody knows what direction everyone’s going, and it looks like spontaneity, but it needs to be planned. I like a plan. I am totally down with that. When you’re doing dialogue, occasionally, you get away with… something comes up funny in a moment, while you’re rehearsing it, and you keep it. And you know, you can riff of it a little bit, and Ryan Reynolds is very good at that. He’s very glib.”
