Avengers: Infinity War Deleted Scenes Show Hulk Emerging From Hulkbuster & More

Avengers Infinity War Deleted Scenes:

There are so many deleted scenes from Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame that an entirely different Avengers movie could be made compiling them all. Well, Marvel has finally released the Infinity Saga box containing all the MCU movies. And with those films comes 50 minutes of extra footage containing deleted scenes from almost every MCU film. The ones from Avengers: Infinity War are quite interesting as they would’ve involved Smart Hulk!

Throughout the marketing campaign of Avengers: Infinity War, we knew that Bruce Banner was going to wear the Hulkbuster armor. And as a courtesy of the marketing, we also knew that Hulk would break out of the Hulkbuster at some point in time. Later it was revealed that he would have broken out of the armor when Hulk was fighting Cull Obsidion. This scene that now has been revealed through the Infinity Saga box shows that Hulk would have taken the battle by a storm. It’s sad that we can only watch the scene if we buy the Infinity Saga set which is selling for over $500.

This is not the only Infinity War scene involving smart hulk. There’s another scene that would have followed. And this scene would have involved Smart Hulk actually speaking to Natasha Romanoff. But ultimately none of this happened and the writers, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have already told us why. They said that this hulk emergence would have ruined the future Endgame plans of Smart Hulk, which ultimately did come as a major surprise for the audience.

Here’s what those two told the New York Times:

“Markus – There was a time when Banner became Smart Hulk in the first movie. It was a lot of fun, but it came at the wrong moment. It was an up, right when everyone else was down.

McFeely – His arc was designed like, I’m not getting along with the Hulk, the Hulk won’t come out. And then they compromise and become Smart Hulk.

Markus – We were like, but he’s Smart Hulk in the next movie. So that diner scene [in Endgame], was like, O.K., how do we smash right into that without scenes of him in a lab, gene-splicing?”

“McFeely – Oh, I wrote scenes in a lab. Now it’s just him eating pancakes and I think it generally works.

Markus – The whole thing rides on [Paul] Rudd going, ‘I’m so confused.’”

Well, what we got was amazing, even though the fans may have been disappointed by not getting a Hulk vs. Thanos 2.0. But it is what it is. What’s great is that the Infinity War deleted scenes quota doesn’t end with just these two Hulk scenes. There’s test footage of the Black Order and another one involving Doctor Strange, Spider-Man and the Guardians. It actually came as a leak way before we even got to see the first trailer of Avengers: Infinity War back in 2017. Everyone thought that this leak was fake, but now we know that it was true all along.

This scene takes place after Thanos snaps out of Mantis’ control as a courtesy of Star-Lord. What Thanos does is that he rips out the souls from the bodies of the Guardians so their bodies lie kinda lifeless. This causes Doctor Strange to order Peter so he’d help the Guardians out. Doctor Strange says – “Peter! Protect them. They’re not dead.” Peter collects the bodies of the Guardians and takes them to Mantis who tries to reconnect the souls of the Guardians somehow. Mantis really is a very underrated character, but we’ll talk about it later.
