7-8 MCU Projects in a Year Will Become the New Rule From 2021

7-8 MCU Projects the New Rule From 2021:

The minute we think DC is getting a good recognition now, Marvel drops a massive bomb and attracts the entire world towards themselves. Dwayne Johnson announced the release date of the Black Adam movie, Joker hit $1 Billion, and all people are looking at are the 5 new release slots that Marvel has booked. They’ve not even placed any films to this slot, but still, people are going crazy because we do have an intuition of what’s coming at us! We’ve predicted a Phase 5 slate right here.

But we’ve actually come to realize that every year we’d be getting at least 7, if not 8 MCU cannon projects. 2021 as we all know is bringing us 4 films – Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Spider-Man 3 & Thor: Love And Thunder. Along with that we’ve got 4 Disney+ series – WandaVision, Loki, What If…? & Hawkeye. This makes 8 MCU projects for 2021.

Now Marvel has announced 5 new release dates and has brought us to the conclusion that 4 MCU films in a year will become the new rule. But along with that, we’re going to get at least 3 new Disney+ TV series, if not 4. Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight & She-Hulk are the shows which will presumably arrive in 2022. So that brings 2022’s MCU total to 7. We don’t know which shows will arrive in 2023, but we can be sure that at least 3 shows will definitely happen. There’s a possibility that Marvel might do 4, but saying that would be a bit of a drag for now.

The question that stands now is – Which shows will arrive after She-Hulk? Rumor has it that Loki will get a new season after the first season premiers in 2021. Well, that could be true or false, we cannot say for certain yet. But there are other rumors about other TV series that will definitely end up happening.

We’ve got a major confirmation for a Young Avengers series. Things in the coming MCU projects do set up Young Avengers very nicely, so while Marvel launches a New Avengers movie in 2023, they could also have a Young Avengers series running simultaneously which would tie into the New Avengers movie just like WandaVision ties into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

After that, we’ve heard about a series called the Power Pack. We’ve predicted that the Fantastic Four movie will happen on July 28, 2023, and Power Pack could straight-up tie into that, just like it has ties with Marvel’s first family in the comics. And finally, the year could end with a Valkyrie series which is said to be in early works and that could explore New Asgard involving Lady Sif. We’ll obviously have to wait for confirmation. So from 2021-2023, we’ll get at least 22 (8+7+7) MCU cannon projects, and if we add the 3 projects from 2020, then the total for the next 4 years comes to 25. That is pure insanity! How will people manage to keep up??

And Marvel won’t stop. 2024 could bring us projects like the X-Men, Thunderbolts, Inhumans and perhaps more sequels such as Shang-Chi 2, Eternals, Thor 5 and who knows what. Marvel is going on a crazy ride and we really have to commit to this slate before we actually join the ride. Disney is confident that Marvel won’t become prey to over-saturation, so it’d be quite interesting to see how they’d handle things.

For now, let’s just focus on Phase 4 which starts with Black Widow on May 1. Here’s how the rest of the Phase 4 slate looks like – The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in Fall 2020, The Eternals on November 6, 2020, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on February 12, 2021, WandaVision in Spring 2021, Loki in Spring 2021, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 7, 2021, Spider-Man 3 on July 16, 2021, What If? In Summer 2021, Hawkeye in Fall 2021, and Thor: Love and Thunder on November 5, 2021.
