Here’s How Captain Marvel Will Finally Reveal The Last Infinity Stone’s Location

The Infinity Stones of Space, Power, Time, Mind, Reality and Soul make up a complete set of the powerful Infinity Gems. One who has possession of all six of these stones will rule over all of creation. Each of these Infinity gems are powerful but collectively they grant the user the powers to reshape the worlds and rewrite entire timelines. If such precious stones fall into the wrong hands, it could be an existential threat for humanity.

Here is what ‘The Collector’ has to say about Infinity Gems.

“Before creation itself, there were six singularities. Then the universe exploded into existence, and the remnants of these systems were forged into concentrated ingots… Infinity Stones.”―The Collector

The directors (Russo brothers) of the upcoming movie Avengers Infinity War described the movie as a heist movie. Here is what they said:

“With “Infinity War,” the biggest new element to the movie is Thanos and the fact that he’s entering the storytelling in a very bold, strong way, to the degree that he’s almost one of the leads. We’ve shaped an interesting narrative around him that in some ways leans heavily on a heist film in the fact that he’s going after the infinity stones in a much bolder, successful way than he has in the past. The entire movie has that energy of the bad guy being one step ahead of the heroes. We looked at a lot of movies that had that heist-style energy to them, and that brought some inspiration”.

For the first time we will see the Mad Titan ‘Thanos’ in action as he takes matters in his own hands as he wants nothing less but to rule the cosmos but to do that, he needs to collect all the six Infinity gems in order to complete his Infinity Gauntlet, and then he needs to go through MCU’s strongest champions of the good. The locations of the first five stones have already been revealed to the viewers and shown to exist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But the Soul Stones’ whereabouts are still unknown.

Well, not anymore!!! Rumors are circulating that the upcoming Captain Marvel movie will finally reveal the Last Infinity Stone’s location.

With the release date of Avengers: Infinity War getting nearer and nearer by the day, the Soul Stone seems to be the only unknown variable in a stage that looks almost set and prepped for the Mad Titan’s arrival. The latest Marvel Studios’ movie Black Panther was rumored of holding the key to the secret of the Soul Stone. That, my friends, has proven to be false. Black Panther, contrary to popular belief, does not feature the Soul Stone. With no more Marvel movies set to be released before Infinity War, everyone seems confused. Why wouldn’t Marvel reveal the location of the Soul Stone? Doesn’t Thanos require all six of them to finish his jewelry set??

Thor: Ragnarok was another contender to house the Soul Stone. Both Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok have come and gone and the Soul Stone is yet to be seen in all its glory. Infinity War is going to be the next MCU movie now so maybe it is time to look past the Infinity War saga for finding out the location of the Soul Stone. This is where Captain Marvel comes into the picture.

Captain Marvel is set for a release date after Infinity War. But the movie’s premise is set on a timeline before the Infinity War saga. It is set in 1990’s when the airforce pilot Carol Danvers meets an accident that turns her into superhuman as her DNA got mixed with an alien DNA. She is going to be fighting Skrulls, that means the movie takes place before Thanos arrives on Earth and wreaks havoc. That is how Marvel has managed to cheat us. They are scrambling timelines to leave the fans guessing. Not fair, Marvel. Not fair at all!!!!

Marvel President Kevin Feige is all praise for Captain Marvel’s entry into the MCU and actress Brie Larsson signed up to play the lead. He said that she is the most powerful character in the entire Marvel universe. Here is what he said:

“With Captain Marvel, there’s so much potential in the comics and there have been so many incarnations of her powers and the characters who’ve had that mantle that we’ve been focusing in on exactly how do we tell her origin. How does it fit into the cosmic side of our universe? How does it fit into what we’re doing with the next Avengers movies? So really, that’s what’s been delaying that particular announcement.”

He added:

“All of the Marvel characters have flaws to them, all of them have a deep humanity to them. With Captain Marvel, she is as powerful a character as we’ve ever put in a movie. Her powers are off the charts, and when she’s introduced, she will be by far the strongest character we’ve ever had. It’s important, then, to counterbalance that with someone who feels real. She needs to have a humanity to tap into, and Brie can do that.”

He finally said “Really, the focus now is on delivering Captain Marvel, and then bringing Captain Marvel’s story into the finale of everything we’ve started thus far.”

In all these years of comic book glory both on and off screen, the villains almost always are tempted to get hold of an artifact so powerful and dangerous that the heroes are forced to band together to stop that from ever happening. In DC, that is almost always the dreaded Anti-Life Equation. Thanos does not dwell much into the jungles of algebra to care for an all-powerful equation. His approach is to obtain the Infinity Stones and rule all cosmos.

The MCU has given us only 5 of the six stones. In the comics, Thanos has achieved all six of them and defeated countless enemies. The location of the sixth and final Infinity Stone was still a closely guarded secret. But thanks to a LEGO set teased not long ago, we thought the Soul Gem will finally find its place in Wakanda.

The theory proved wrong but there’s a new one in town. So here’ the new Soul Stone theory – Thanos does not get to attain all the six Infinity Stones in Avengers: Infinity War. His quest stops at five, not because the heroes topped him but because that will be the runtime of the movie. Thanos will look for the Soul Stone in Avengers 4, by the time of which Captain Marvel would have already been shown as a prominent member of the MCU, prominent enough to make her official debut as an Avenger besides Iron Man, Thor, Hulk and Captain America.

The Soul Stone, which would have had made an appearance in Captain Marvel a long time before Avengers 4, will also be the object of the movie. Thanos will try to steal the Stone while the Avengers will make a last-ditch effort to stop him from achieving Godhood.

As to the reason why Captain Marvel and not Black Panther will include the Soul Stone, its director Ryan Coogler

Gives us a pretty good explanation:

“I love the Infinity Stones as much as any comic book fan, it’s just Wakanda already has its thing, which is Vibranium,” Coogler told IGN. “For us, that was special enough, so to throw in something like another special thing didn’t feel right. It felt like we should stick with our one MacGuffin for the country and explore that, let that be the important thing because, frankly we didn’t need to have another piece like that. [Marvel Studios] never really was interested in putting a stone in there, either.”

Captain Marvel won’t be part of Avengers Infinity War but she will join the Avengers and Guardians in Avengers 4 to defeat Thanos and his Black Order. It only makes sense that Marvel would use its most powerful weapon when all hope is lost. When major Avengers are dead, human armies are wiped out and Thanos is marching towards a victory and BOOM….we have Captain Marvel.

Don’t Miss: Did Location of Wakanda Change In Black Panther?
