Eternals – Secret Villain:
Eternals will have so many heroes as Marvel announced the big bunch of new cast members at SDCC and D23. It will be a story about how the Eternals integrate themselves with humans. And, while that happens, they would have to fight the Deviants. Imagine the X-Men and the mutants plot. The X-Men pursue the ideology of living with the humans in harmony, while Magneto and his followers believe that it cannot happen and Mutants are the cure. The basic outline of Eternals is this, but there’s obviously going to be a difference.
We don’t know whether the Deviants will have a major role to play in the upcoming film as they could be set up for the future sequels. But logically they should. A recent leak suggested that the story of Eternals will circle around the relationship between Jemma Chan’s Sersi and Kit Harrington’s Dane Whitman aka Black Knight. Sersi is an Eternal, and Dane Whitman as we know is not. They’d probably fall in love with each other. Some Eternals will be supportive about it, and some (like Druig) may not be as understanding.

The Eternals don’t go out revealing their identities to humans as they wish to blend in with the human kind. So, this love between Dane and Sersi may not be acceptable, and hence it will cause Druig to collude with the Deviants. According to We Got This Covered and sources close to them, Druig will be revealed as the villain of the film at the very end of the movie. Of course, if there are so many super-powered beings involved in the film, then there has to be at least one major villains if not more.
So, the actions of Druig may be suspicious right from the beginning, but as the report from WGTC suggests, he will be revealed as the perpetrator in the end. That will set him up as a major villain for the sequel, similar to how Baron Mordo was set up as a villain for Doctor Strange sequels at the very end. Although the difference between Druig and Mordo is that Druig probably won’t have noble intentions in the beginning of the film. He’d be a villain from the start, plotting and scheming against his own kind, so he could lead the Eternals to glory by may be proving their kind superior to the Humans.
This is the generic plot that films follow these days, so it could be wrong when it comes to the Eternals. You do have to take it as a grain of salt. But even if this plot is taken up, then we could expect to have some complexities in it. Either way, we can expect Eternals to be one of the best films of 2019, if not the best. One thing which is for sure is that the film is going to adopt the vibrant color scene that Jack Kirby’s art work displayed in the comics. Thor: Ragnarok was a mix of the first two Thor movies and the Guardians of the Galaxy. For Eteranls, imagine Thor: Ragnarok, but the scales will be tipped even further.
Let’s see how Marvel handles things with Eternals. Their future is huge and there’s a lot that could happen. Black Widow is going to kick off the future slate on May 1.
