Avengers: Endgame Directors Reveal the Real Hero of Infinity Saga [It Ain’t Ant-Man]

Avengers: Endgame gave us the epic moment we were longing for since forever. The first Avengers movie united only 6 heroes. Then it was 9 in Age of Ultron, 12 assembled in Civil War (even though they fought each other), and Infinity War brought in almost 20 but they never assembled. The heroes fought their battles on two different fronts, Endgame is where all of them came together. Even the ones that we didn’t expect did! The last decade was entirely meant to bring them all on a single battlefield. So, the credit for the win against Thanos goes to all of them, or probably just one.

No it wasn’t Iron Man. It was a joint effort of every superhero during the battle. Let’s just point out the specialties of some heroes and figure out their role in the win. Sure Tony Stark sacrificed himself and ended the battle in just one snap.

But, before him it was Captain Marvel who didn’t let Thanos make the snap happen again. He was so close and she came in, held his fingers and didn’t let them touch each other! Then it was Scarlet Witch who almost killed him single handedly. She led Thanos to perform the most cowardly attack, i.e. “Rain Fire”!

Captain America and Thor fought most of the fight against the Purple Titan before the Avengers Assembled. Cap really took him down, and if Thor would have been able to assist at that point of time, may be the war never would have happened!

Hulk didn’t have a key role in the battle, but he was the one to perform the Blip! He was the one to bring everyone back. But that was made possible by the heroics of Natasha and Clint. Nat sacrificed herself for the better of her family and the entire Universe. But Clint had to sacrifice a friend and live with that. He had to sacrifice a friend that he loved the most in the entire damn world! And the worst part of it was that he wasn’t given a choice.

So, all the OG 6 were true heroes, but there was another Avenger who deserves the greatest credit and it was Ant-Man. He emerged from the Quantum Realm 5 Years later and brought hope back. No not his girlfriend, well he did get her back, but hope as a beacon. The time heist was his idea and he was the reason Tony Stark was able to figure out time travel! This was the biggest foreshadowing in the history of the MCU. But according to the directors and the writers, even he doesn’t deserve the greatest credit.

Joe Russo along with the film’s co-writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have revealed the biggest hero of the entire Infinity Saga who made it all possible. They said:

“Markus – And now, shortly you’re about to be introduced to the hero of the entire film. The savior of the universe.

Joe Russo – The hero of the Infinity Saga.

Markus – This rat.”

Yes it was THE RAT that brought Ant-Man back from the Quantum Realm 5 years later! Ant-Man was extremely lucky because first of all he didn’t get snapped. Secondly, after 5 whole hours of being in the Quantum Realm, the heroic Rat saved him! The 1 in 14 Million chances is not what we all thought. It wasn’t Iron Man’s snap. It was the rat co-incidence that happened 5 years later after the snap.

The creative trio continued:

“McFeely – Now we have a rule in writing that, you know, sort of coincidences, you’re sort of allowed them in Act One (laughs). A coincidence late in the movie is perhaps lazy. I’m delighted that a rat has saved the universe. But it absolutely is you know, a coincidence.

Markus – Well, when things like this happen, often rats are all that’s left.

McFeely – And arguably, it’s one in 14 million chances.

Russo – I was going to say, there were 14 million versions of this story where the rat did not step on that button.

Markus – And have you seen the last of that rat? I don’t know.”

Well, we may not have seen the last him. Or have we? What if Goose ate the rat? Who knows? We’ll have to wait and find out!
