Avengers: Endgame did so much for its fans. It has fulfilled our big dream of seeing the most epic Superhero battle in the history of battles, but it also left us with its fair share of questions. It had so much riding upon its shoulders as the film had to end the MCU really well, integrate all the characters into one big story, and set up a future to be carried forward. It did all of that extremely well, and now we will see things thrive starting with Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Avengers: Endgame kept things simple as to how the snap victims were to be brought back. The Avengers went back in time to collect the Infinity Stones and being successful at that, Hulk did a second snap to bring back the victims in the exact same way that they were dusted 5 years ago. The deal here was that those 5 years weren’t erased. Everything that happened in those 5 years stands and it was just half the Universe coming back to life 5 years later.
But this way of bringing everyone back has had people a little confused. For example, why are Peter’s friends still in the same grade when he returns back to school. The Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer showed us that all his friends were still there with him and none of them had grown a teeny big after Infinity War. So, were they all snapped? As it turns out, Joe Russo has answered this mystery for us, and the answer to this question is, YES!
In a recent Q&A conducted by J Russo, he said the following:
“Yes, those people who were lucky to survive the snap are 5 years older than the people who just got back. The reason Spider-Man saw his friend again in high school at the end was simply because his friends were unfortunately also dusted like Spider-Man was. Of course, there are people in his grade whom didn’t die and they are probably already in colleges by now. To those dusted people, they had no conscious in these past 5 years. They didn’t know what happened. It’s as if they had just woke up from a long sleep. The only one who was aware about how many years has passed was Doctor Strange, because he has already seen that when he was time mediating on Titan. Parker’s reunion with Ned was a touching moment. There are also people whom indeed moved on but suddenly were reunited with their lost ones. Yeah it’s a complicated world now.”
So, Peter’s new and upcoming love interest Michelle was also snapped. Zendaya recently posted a picture saying, “Me after watching Endgame and knowing what I Know about FFH.” This probably is a tease to the fact that Michelle was also a victim of Thanos’ unjust snap. But the first FFH trailer showed that almost every one of Peter’s friends was with him on the Europe trip. So all of them were snapped. This is a rather convenient explanation and we have to bear with it. Perhaps the trailer could have lied to us. Let’s see what happens in the second one.
