Avengers: Endgame will be the pay-off to the set up that was or castrated by Avengers: Infinity War. It will, in fact, tie up almost all the loose ends of the 21 movies that we’ve seen before. Doing that, the film will give us the ultimate showdown between the Avengers and Thanos, while dealing with the ramification of the snap-in Infinity War.
Joe Russo mentioned that before we watch Avengers: Endgame, we really have to be thorough with the little details they left in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. And apart from them, they will obviously touch upon Avengers 1, Age of Ultron and the first Guardians of the Galaxy as well. So these 5 movies, plus any other MCU solo could be revisited in Endgame.
The Avengers have no other choice left to fight back. Tony Stark, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man took the fight to him on Titan, and as the trailers have suggested, the rest of the Avengers will also take the fight to him at The Garden. But many of the action figures have teased the fact that Thanos will reply. He will bring the fight to the home of the Avengers, i.e. the Avengers Facility. It has even been hinted within the trailers, but none of it has really been shown to us.
LEGO was the first to show us that a fight would take place at the Avengers Compound. Then came another Reddit post that showed Thanos standing on a massive “A” which was broken into pieces. Now we’ve got yet another Action figure that shows us exactly that. Here’s a new Nebula toy hinting at the battle at the Avengers HQ:
Now if you notice in all these images, none of the disintegrated characters are present for obvious reasons. But given the fact that none of the trailers have shown us, this battle, we could assume that the attack actually takes place after the Avengers reverse the snap. What if the final battle takes place here, with all the Avengers taking on Thanos and his foot soldiers? It could happen, but this attack happening before the snap reversal is also entirely possible.
So if we were to pinpoint a time frame, this battle would either happen right in the middle of the film, or at the very end. Story-wise, this being the final battle would really be more fitting as that is how the Avengers brand could come to an end, and a new team led by Captain Marvel could emerge. But we’ll find out soon enough.
Directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame will open on April 26, and it’ll presumably star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jeremy Renner Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Danai Gurira, Peter Dinklage, Benedict Wong, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Paul Rudd, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Tessa Thompson, Evangeline Lilly, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Cate Blanchett, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Douglas, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Goldblum, Katherine Langford, Stellan Skarsgard, Ava Russo and Brie Larson.
Here’s the new synopsis of Avengers: Endgame:
“Thanos snapped his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War, and half the life in the universe instantly dissolved. Now a ragged group of surviving warriors, including Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk works to counteract the Mad Titan’s genocidal action.
Since our heroes couldn’t stop Thanos the first time, what makes them think they can win in a rematch? The answer may be in overwhelming power, thanks to Captain Marvel, or in the tiniest spaces between atoms accessible to Ant-Man. Avengers: Endgame will rewrite the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it. When it’s all over, nothing will be the same.”
I just have the biggest passion for everything cinematic! I want to share this passion with everyone through my writing about Hollywood Movies and TV. Other than that, I am a big sports fanatic and enthusiast. I’d like to write about my favorite sports as well some day.
