Avengers: Endgame – There’s No Post Credits Scene, But There’s Still a Stinger After All

Many lucky people are done and dusted with Avengers: Endgame as the movie is making rounds at the Box Office like crazy. Literally, everyone wants to watch it even if they haven’t seen any of the previous films. This was the biggest event in the history of the MCU, as it was the finale that ties loose ends and brings everything together for us to rejoice the massive ending.

This film was different from anything we’ve seen till now. It sure was the greatest MCU movie of all time, but it actually did something very distinguishable from every other MCU movie. It did not have any post-credits scenes at all. Every MCU movie traditionally has two post-credits scenes that usually set up the future and give us a little something to laugh about. Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Infinity War had just one of those scenes. But Endgame ditches the tradition and doesn’t give us any new scene to set up the future.

The Ending of Avengers: Endgame was very fulfilling in itself so the film actually didn’t require anything after the credits. The final few minutes were used to set up things for the future and hence, no post-credits. But for those who still stuck around in respect, or probably in hopes that a scene would come after all did get something peculiar. It may have gone unnoticed, but it’s there.

No new footage, but right after the credits have rolled, we get a sound of metallic clanking, and that’s supposed to reference Iron Man. It is a nod to the first time Tony Stark built his Iron Man suit in a cave. This reference obviously serves as a message that it all started with him, and now it is literally ending with him as well.

While it is good to stay till the end as a respect for all those people who have worked upon the film, it may actually be rather great to leave the theatres as soon as the film wraps. Theatre chains are going into 24-hour overdrives to deliver this film to us. So, they aren’t getting a whole lot of time between 2 shows screening at a particular screen one after the other. Hence the only time they get to clean up the theatres is the credits. So we should allow them to clean up and get things ready for the next screening.

For this purpose, theatres have actually put up posters and signboards out in the lobby, stating that there are in fact no post-credits scenes. It is actually smart to do so on their end. The metallic clink that’s there may not be worth getting the theatre staff off track.

Here’s the new synopsis of Avengers: Endgame:

“Thanos snapped his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War, and half the life in the universe instantly dissolved. Now a ragged group of surviving warriors, including Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk works to counteract the Mad Titan’s genocidal action.

Since our heroes couldn’t stop Thanos the first time, what makes them think they can win in a rematch? The answer may be in overwhelming power, thanks to Captain Marvel, or in the tiniest spaces between atoms accessible to Ant-Man. Avengers: Endgame will rewrite the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it. When it’s all over, nothing will be the same.”
