Just 20 days away from us is the biggest movie of all time, i.e. Avengers: Endgame. What this film has managed to do very well is maintain a whole lot of secrecy! Even if we put it to a far stretch, the marketing of the film has only partially shown us the first half of the film through bits and pieces. Even all of that won’t be true as we could imagine many things to be completely altered by CGI.
Kevin Feige was asked whether the marketing of the film would include footage from just the first 15 minutes of the film, and here’s what he said in reply:
“I’d call it somewhat accurate. As was the case with a lot of our films, this one in particular, being able to generate a lot of excitement without giving away one of the many, many, many secrets. I think the Disney marketing team is the best in the world and we’ll be able to pull it off.”
Well, I’m here to say that this may have been the initial plan but the film has totally given us the footage that would at least amount to the first hour of the movie (or even more). It has kinda given us the idea of what’s really going to happen in the first half, but things are massively scrambled in our minds mainly due to Black Widow’s red long hair. So all that has been revealed is kinda fine. We can still be happy with the fact that we don’t know anything related to how the snap will be reversed or how exactly will the victims be brought back.
Kevin Feige was right about almost everything, but he was certainly right about one thing, i.e. this film has many, many, many secrets! One of those secrets may have been revealed through a new poster that has been spotted in a Tokyo subway station. These aren’t basically spoilers for the plot, but it could possibly spoil the set up for the future of the MCU. Take a look:
Yes, the people would end up focusing upon 1/80000. Well, we don’t know what that means yet, but what’s interesting is the text written upon the poster. Here’s what it translates to – “The Avengers will end. For the sake of a new hope.” Now, this could mean two things. Either all of the original Avengers will die and we will be left with a new team of new generation heroes giving us “the new hope,” or ‘The Avengers’ brand will end and we won’t get any more movies titled with this name.
Either way, what we get from this is that the MCU will not be the same anymore. There’s a seismic shift coming in and things will be irreversible after that. We just have to be mentally ready to face that.
Directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame will open on April 26, and it’ll presumably star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jeremy Renner Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Danai Gurira, Peter Dinklage, Benedict Wong, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Paul Rudd, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Tessa Thompson, Evangeline Lilly, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Cate Blanchett, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Douglas, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Goldblum, Katherine Langford, Stellan Skarsgard, Ava Russo and Brie Larson.
Here’s the new synopsis of Avengers: Endgame:
“Thanos snapped his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War, and half the life in the universe instantly dissolved. Now a ragged group of surviving warriors, including Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, and the Hulk works to counteract the Mad Titan’s genocidal action.
Since our heroes couldn’t stop Thanos the first time, what makes them think they can win in a rematch? The answer may be in overwhelming power, thanks to Captain Marvel, or in the tiniest spaces between atoms accessible to Ant-Man. Avengers: Endgame will rewrite the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it. When it’s all over, nothing will be the same.”
