The Decimation event at the end of Infinity War was the ultimate form of the massacre. Countless number if lives were just pulled out of the realm of existence, withering to dust and passing onto the void, never to be seen again. A lot of the heroes who died were very, very strong. Doctor Strange, for example, could bend time and space using ancient magic. Black Panther had the power of Vibranium. Star-Lord was literally half a God. Scarlet Witch could bend reality to her will using her powers. And yet none of them managed to survive the snap. It was all becoming and all-powerful. And it took only a few moments to come into effect. That is the power of the Infinity Stones. No one escapes judgment. But someone just did!! This Agents of Shield Actor is of the opinion that Ghost Rider survived the Decimation event. Presenting – Agents of Shield Actor says Ghost Rider survived the Thanos Snap!!
For months, the fans were unsure what happened to a majority of the main and supporting characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While some of the deaths were shown on screen, a vast majority of them were still under suspicion. Seeing is believing, right. We never saw Shuri dying. So we believed she had survived. That hope came to a crashing halt when Marvel Studios released the “Avenge the fallen” Poster, showing Shuri’s black and white silhouette amongst the fallen heroes. Now we know she is one of the victims of the snap.
This leads to another question – who else is already dead that Marvel is hiding from us? What about the Agents of Shield TV Show? That show is directly connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After the Snap, which of the characters are dead or are most likely to have died? That is the million dollar question.
Agents of Shield has always ignored the larger MCU storyline and has always followed its own plot direction. The Thanos Snap is not supposed to have a significant impact on the show. But for now, we can cross off one name from the list of probable deaths. Gabriel Luna, who played Ghost Rider in Agents of Shield Season 4, claims that his character has definitely survived the Thanos Snap. When asked about his character’s status as of right now, he says and we quote:
“Hey, I’m already dead bro. I can’t die again. [Thanos] can’t touch me.”
The last time Ghost Rider made an appearance in the Agents of Shield TV Show it was holding the nefarious Darkhold within its grasp and opened a portal to the Dimension of Hell. The intention was that to stop the Darkhold from falling into the wrong hands, the Ghost Rider will make the ultimate sacrifice of traveling to Hell, where he will be trapped for all eternity along with the Darkhold, which will not be able to cause any more damage. Since Ghost Rider is already in hell, killing him won’t make much of a difference.
Moreover, Luna’s argument is based on the fact that since Zarathos (the spirit of Vengeance that gives the Ghost Rider his powers) is an entity that lends you his powers in return for the wielder’s soul, Robbie Reyes is already dead since he does not have a soul. This means that the Ghost Rider is already dead. What is dead may never die.
In the meantime, the Avengers will be battling Thanos one more time in the upcoming Avengers: Endgame movie. The movie is set for release on the 26th of this month. Whether Ghost Rider is dead or not, it will not matter as the Avengers are going to win this thing and bring the fallen heroes back from the dead. Or are they?
The official film synopsis of the movie has been recently released and it states:
“After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos’ actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.”
