MCU Boss Kevin Feige Talks About The Unused Potential of Quantum Realm

Quantum Realm –

The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a blur as of now as a lot of what’s coming next will depend upon how Avengers: Endgame concludes the 22 Movie long tale of the MCU. So far from what we know, Spider-Man: Far From Home is going to start proceedings for the next long tale of the MCU, and we are going to go through 2 MCU prequels that are Black Widow and The Eternals. Rest of the future movies in talks to come out are Shang Chi, Black Panther 2 & Doctor Strange 2. But Kevin Feige proposes something totally different and beyond these films.

For now, the future plans of Marvel are going to be announced once Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out. By that time, Disney will have acquired Fox and would have had some proper planning time. So we can expect a big slate to be revealed by June or July. Here’s what Kevin Feige had to say about it:

“As we’ve been doing for years, we aren’t going to announce anything post Avengers: Endgame or Spider-Man [Far From Home] until post Endgame and Spider-Man. As you know as a fan, there’s a tremendous amount of potential and a tremendous amount of additional characters and storylines and groups of characters that we’re going to keep playing with. And again, that’s a testament to Marvel and to the amount of storylines and characters and amazing, amazing runs that have been in the Marvel comics.”

But Kevin Feige has given us a big hint upon what is going to be the main feature of all the MCU movies coming out post Endgame. In an interview published in Marvel Studios: The First 10 Years in 2018, Kevin Feige talked about how significant the Quantum Realm is going to be as he said:

“At the end of Ant-Man we followed Scott Lang into the Quantum Realm for the first time. We were beginning to peel back the onion that would later be completely peeled back in Doctor Strange as we go into the multiverse. So that was our little test into that.

But now the Quantum Realm is a whole other territory that we can play with to tell our stories. This Quantum Realm is much larger than we ever imagined, and there are all sorts of adventures to be had at that level, which perhaps we will explore in another film.”

Now that we have seen 3 movies feature the Quantum Realm and are on the verge of getting 2 more like them, we can only imagine that this healing and life-giving dimension can play a major role in the MCU. Even as recently as 2 days ago, Feige spoke to Screen Rant about the Quantum Realm. Here’s the question that SR asked and the answer Feige gave to them:

“SR – It seems that the Quantum Realm is positioned to be as potentially important as the Infinity Stones were in the first 10 years. How important will this concept be?

Quantum Realm Kevin Feige MCU

Kevin Feige – I think really important. I think it’s one of the fun things about the comics that allow you to explore entirely new terrains. And we’ve hinted at it now in numerous films and it’s untapped, primarily untapped potential.”

Well, some of this untapped potential will be used up by the likes of Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel. Endgame more so than Captain Marvel will dive deep into the intricacies and the unique possibilities of the Quantum Realm, thus further setting up its use for movies like Doctor Strange 2, Captain Marvel 2 and Ant-Man and the Wasp 3. There’s a whole city & a civilization sitting inside the Quantum Realm, so Feige’s comments upon the untapped potential are merely just the tip of the iceberg.

Let’s see how things will shape up after Avengers: Endgame. Theories have suggested that MCU will get their mutants, or perhaps the Fantastic Four as a result of the Quantum Realm. So let’s see how that goes in the future.
