Avengers: Endgame TV Spot –
Marvel gave us the first Avengers: Endgame trailer back in December, and there wasn’t a lot to take away from it. It has almost been 2 months since then and we were craving for something related to Avengers: Endgame once again so it was about damn time!
Disney spent millions on putting out 3 new TV Spots at the Super Bowl and one of those, as expected, turned out to be the Avengers: Endgame Super Bowl TV Spot. Here’s the spot, watch it if you were living under a stone till now:
Just like the first trailer of Avengers: Endgame, this spot doesn’t reveal much, but it does one thing very well, and that is complement the first trailer. It more or confirms many things that the first trailer set up. Seeing the spot, we now know for sure that Scott is really at the front door of the Avengers facility, Nebula and Tony are together on the Benatar, there will be a time leap and the world kingdom cum.
The spot gives us a moment where we see 4 of the surviving Avengers namely Steve, Natasha, Rhodey and Bruce Banner walk out of the Avengers facility looking towards the sky at something mysterious. We will discuss what they could be looking at in a while, but before that let me just point out the fact that someone has definitely been edited out of this particular shot.
Because Rocket is all CGI, he could have been cut out of here, and we’ve established that Scott is at the Avengers facility, then he could also be right here between Rhodey and Bruce. Apart from these two, Thor could also have been edited but there’s no reason to really do that.
Now moving on, let’s discuss all the possible prospects of who could the Avengers be looking at:
Iron Man & Nebula
The most obvious guess that we can make is Tony and Nebula who are currently adrift in space on the Benatar with no resources and trying to make their way back home. Now it is a given that these two will successfully make it back with the help of Pepper Potts and Rocket Racoon, and Audi is also running a VR gaming experience called Rocket’s Rescue Run. So if it is a ship carrying Tony & Nebula, then we may also see Rocket and Pepper aboard that ship. And that would mean that the Avenger missing on the ground is probably Scott Lang.
While we know that Captain Marvel is supposed to be in the upcoming crossover, we don’t know where and how she is going to appear. So perhaps Captain America and co could be looking at Captain Marvel making her grand entrance.
Thor & The Surviving Asgardians
While this is rather unlikely to happen, Thor will probably go on to find his people who survived the initial attack of Thanos on the Grandmaster’s ship. And because Valkyrie is going to be inbound, this could be them making their entrance to unite with the rest of the Avengers. If this is the case, then Thor’s possibility of being the missing Avenger on the ground also gets ruled out.
Another major unlikely scenario as we know that this sequence takes place in the first act of the film and Thanos would have no business having to leave his resting safe haven and bring down a ship to the Avengers facility upon Earth. But he is capable of making an entrance like this so he makes the list. Although he only uses the Space Stone to travel now, so all this seems a bit pointless.
The “Greater” Threat
From reports and toy leaks, we know that there is another villain involved in the story, and he/she is an even greater threat than Thanos. So it could be that threat arriving at the front door of the Avengers facility, trying to make a hit when the team is the most vulnerable. But this yet again is an improbable scenario.
With the Avengers: Endgame trailers, we have learned that things are usually the basic and the most obvious assumptions. And here, the most obvious presumption we have is for the arriving ship to be of Tony and Nebula.
