The way these MCU creatives are hiding stuff about Avengers: Endgame, we can imagine that the film is going to be the biggest thriller event that we have ever seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Infinity War was a Thriller, and even though Civil War’s twist was predictable from the beginning, it was still able to deliver on the thrill because of the way the plot was set up. In Avengers: Endgame, many characters are going to come together, so that leaves a lot of room for some characters like Quicksilver to totally surprise us.
One of the most unlikely characters that could be crucial to save the day may be Ava Star aka Ghost. Ant-Man is going to be really important to the upcoming story as he will be sucked in by a Time Vortex and thrown out a few days into the future. That is when we see him appear at the front door of the Avengers facility. But even though his contributions may be crucial to the plot, it is still a big ask for someone like Scott Lang who doesn’t really have proper knowledge about everything related to the Quantum Realm.
With Hank Pym gone, it could get difficult for the likes of Tony, Banner, and Shuri to study and know about the Quantum Realm which leads to time travel. So, this is where Reddit user JoshandMarie (most likely Josh) suggests that it is Ghost who will come in as a helper and tell Scott about whatever he needs to know. Here’s the theory that the Redditor has mentioned:
“Hank Pym and Bill Foster have mostly head knowledge of the quantum realm and little to no actual application. Sure, Foster lectures his class about being “both in and out of phase with multiple parallel realities,” but he himself doesn’t have experience doing such. I don’t think their teaching would be all that critical.
Next is Janet Van Dyne. Now what she has to say will be extremely important. Her applicable knowledge of the quantum realm was made evident at the end of Ant Man and the Wasp not just knowing about the Quantum realm– but using its effects in the current realm.
BUT Ava Star will be more crucial, why?
1. She knows what it’s like to be in flux between the two dimensions
2. She knows what it’s like to be in either dimensions separately
3. She has both head knowledge and applicable knowledge of the quantum realm and only got smarter after Ant-Man.
She doesn’t need a big role with lots of screen time, but she should have an important role none the less. She is (probably) not snapped away and could help Ant-Man along the way (can she even get snapped away? Is the considered part of this universe if she keeps going in and out?). If Ant-Man needed a go-to for quantum realm questions, she would be the one to ask. But more importantly, She’d also know where the van is and could track it down– possibly even go inside the quantum realm using the tech.
At this point we also know she isn’t really evil, and would likely join the fight to save the others. I could imagine her pushing through the pain of going back to her inter-dimensional illness as part of a plan to have her help. Though it’d be cool for her to somehow get Thanos to tear himself between two dimensions and be defeated, more realistically she’d play a small role and ultimately sacrifice herself.”
The Redditor does have a point here. Ava should not be underestimated as she is a character that can surely continue in the future of the MCU. But since Ava was in an urgent need of some more Quantum Energy which Scott went in the Realm to get in the first place, how will she be able to survive for the next coming days until Scott doesn’t reappear? Moreover, if Ava is not a part of Avengers: Endgame at all, then how will she survive for so long because the pay-off to her character may only be seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp 3.
There is a mystery surrounding Ghost, which may or may not be unraveled in Avengers: Endgame. Her appearance in Endgame though will actually be an unforeseen and most welcome twist!
