Avengers: Endgame Theory –
Avengers: Infinity War marked the arrival of Thanos into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie acted as an anchor for the stage the villain to enter this iteration of the Marvel universe to begin the end of the decade-long series arc of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The wrath of Thanos was unparalleled, the death and destruction wrought by him unto the earth’s mightiest heroes was nothing short of pure carnage.
It was truly horrific what we witnessed at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. The snap of Thanos’ fingers utilising all of the six known infinity stones devasted entirety of creation to its core. The mere idea of this genocide was earth breaking but the actual execution of it baffled our little minds.
The Titan actually did it. He acted on his misguided and half-baked motivations of ‘balancing life’ and eradicated half of all life in existence. The entire population cried out in horror as their loved ones disappeared into nothingness.
Some were shocked and devasted, others like Hawkeye lost their minds and took up other destructive measures (like fighting the Yakuza with swords in the middle of Japan for no apparent reason). But the question remains, even after the premiere of Avengers: Endgame trailer, how will the remnant of Avengers begin to correct the situation that the tyrant of the dark quadrant has created in his frenzy.
How will the heroes ‘save’ the universe from a force such as this? This powerful mad creature with the power of reality at his fingertips. How will we redeem ourselves from it? Especially when the earth’s mightiest heroes are dissipated, and not just across the earth but across the wide spectrum of our known universe.
Well, if you ask the fandom then you will get to know that the commonly accepted theory at the current moment regarding the modus operandi of the remnants of the earth’s mightiest heroes against Thanos is considered to be one or more variations of time travel.
The time travel theories are spread far and wide on the internet with slightly different plot details but they always seem to have been focused on one of two things. They always talk about Ant-Man’s escape from the quantum realm and then his manipulation of the Time vortexes inside the said quantum realm to reset and correct the timeline to defeat Thanos.
But all of these theories disregard (or rather seem to ignore) one pertinent detail. No one ever seems to talk about how Ant-Man will escape the clutches of the quantum realm without any outside help. But don’t you worry true believer, we at QuirkyByte, have just the theory for you.
The premise is that it will be none other than the secondary antagonist of Ant-Man and the Wasp aka Ghost who will be the saving grace of Scott Lang. Ghost was stuck between the quantum realm and our plane of existence for a long time.
Her state of existence was one of flux and she used this state to fight against both Ant-Man and the Wasp during the events of the second Ant-Man movie. She is confirmed by the directors to have survived the snap of Thanos and it seems rather apparent that she may as well be the one to save Scott Lang from the quantum realm (albeit sacrificing herself).
This may as well be one of the greatest redemption arcs seen in the movies and will close another subplot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It might be an ingenious way for Marvel to settle a lot of things including a premise for time travel and dealing with the end of the character of GHOST, come Avengers: Endgame and further phase 4.
It will act as her final hurrah and what a fine close it will be to a three movie sub plot in a franchise like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Plus no one would expect Ghost to return so soon after Ant-Man and the Wasp and that is what makes this theory so very interesting. What do you think?
