At this point, we cannot be sure of anything that will or won’t happen in Avengers: Endgame. The movie is a complete mystery. The events of the film will involve Time Travel and Quantum Realm, and the heroes that died will be brought back, but how that is going to happen will stay a mystery until the film arrives in the theatres.
While there are many theories about this film that are spread all across the internet, there’s always a new one that seems more interesting. A lot of people are spending a considerable amount of time in predicting what the fate of all the Avengers in the film is going to be, and now a new theory has come in, courtesy of Reddit user which suggests that the plot of Avengers: Endgame will show us a second Snap. Here’s what he wrote on Reddit:
“Think back to Doctor Strange telling Tony, he will not hesitate to watch him die for the safety of the stone. Well, maybe he has done that in the long term. Let’s say that Doctor Strange went forward and saw that the team that survived the snap were spread across the universe, all beaten by time.
Cap has seen Bucky, Falcon and the civilians that he strives to protect die a couple of times. Red Skull tells him “you are a man out of time, Captain Rogers” and the recent trailers hint at his remorse for the battle he can never win.
Iron Man has lost his suits, found his suits, built drones, destroyed them all and built Ultron somewhere in all of that, again becoming powerless in the end. He brought Spiderman to the forefront of the fight only to see him die in his arms.
Thor is just as bad, losing Mjolnir, Odin, Loki, Heimdall and half of Asgaard. He continually takes 1 step forward and 2 steps back, even joking with Rocket “Thanos has never thought me twice” before inevitably failing to stop the snap despite knowing of the Thanos threat before the others.
Hawkeye tried to walk away and lost his family, Black Widow has seen multiple government agendas fail and Banner and Hulk have appeared to reach the breaking point of their coexistence.
In short, Doctor Strange would have seen that the Avengers can’t win, but won’t give up.
With the original Avengers surviving the snap, they now know the stakes and will work to stop the snap from occurring or more likely make Thanos do the snap again… which would eliminate them.
Who would be left? Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man… These are characters that have not been beaten time and again, the belief they need to save the universe would be driven by the death of those hero’s that gave them the chance to live.
What if the first snap neutralized the genuine threats to Thanos, and Endgame is Thanos realising the original Avengers are the threat, eliminating them and allowing a new generation of heroes that haven’t been beaten over and over again to take the torch.”
Well, it is a deep thought, but this theory basically lies in with the thought that the surviving Avengers will sacrifice themselves to save the ones that vanished, and that cannot happen. All the surviving characters just cannot disappear from the face of the Universe. Even though the likes of Captain America and Iron Man won’t continue in the future, there has to be someone that stays and continues. We assume that Black Widow and the Hulk will surely survive and get to continue with the future of the MCU.
So even though this theory is good, it still falls apart because it is too far of a stretch, especially the last part of it, with Thanos realizing the real threat. The Snap was supposed to be unbiased so, there is no real threat or fake threat in the first place. Still, it is good that the Redditor contributed.
