Now that 2018 has ended, let’s talk about the top WTF movie moments of 2018. We had some really weird and amazing moments in the movies last year which we are mostly sure that you wouldn’t have missed but if you have because of some reason then it’s your chance to know about the moments everyone was talking about the whole year. 10. The Beheading – Hereditary:
This supernatural horror movie has been directed by Ari Aster and the plot of the movie is about the death of the grandmother of a family. The movie has been tremendously made and it will completely change your expectations with a horror movie. But, there was one crazy scene in the movie where we saw the character of Charlie getting rushed to the hospital after an allergic reaction at the party.
While taking Charlie to the hospital, her brother Peter who was driving the car at full speed sticks out her head out of the window in order to get some air but he panics suddenly, after an animal comes in his way and Charlie’s head gets blown away by a pole on the side of the road. This scene simply paused us all for more than a second.
9. The Shining Sequence – Ready Player One:
The scene was done with an idea of recreating the Overlook Hotel from the famous movie The Shining but turned out to be a really WTF scene. Tech gets in front of the creepy Grady Twins but she successfully escapes through a hallway full of blood unaware that something more vicious is waiting for her in room no. 237 and discovers that the guests there were not very cool as we all know what appeared on the big screen.
8. The Doppelganger Dance – Annihilation:
This horror movie wrapped in science fiction was one of the best movies of 2018 as it was directed by Alex Garland and was based on the novel of the same name by Jeff VanderMeer. Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason, and many other gave one of the best performances of their career.
There were a lot of crazy scenes in the movie but the biggest and the most amazing scene came right at the end when Natalie Portman’s character Lena faces off her body-double, which was born from her own blood. She also battles herself and the background score of that particular scene was quite weird to ears and mind but on top of that, we didn’t know whether escaping was a possibility or not. But, her doppelganger made its way out of the shimmer.
7. Butt Chugging – Blockers:
The movie was directed by Kay Cannon, as it was her directorial debut and no wonder she got a lot of praise for a debut movie like this because it was phenomenal and having Leslie Mann, John Cena, Ike Barinholtz, and many others was also quite incredible in the movie.
Well, the concept of the movie is as weird this scene. In which, we see that in order to get entry to the party they have to battle their way out in a chugging competition. And in order to protect the purity of his daughter, Mitchell accepts a beer funnel and attempts to chug but when the cops arrive, he freaks out and the funnel spits the butt beer back right on the face of Hunter. The scene is really hilarious and gross.
6. The Twist – Sorry To Bother You:
The story of the movie is about a young telemarketer who adopts the white accent in order to get a job but, later has to choose between money-making and humanity. The movie is a must watch for all the people out there who love roller-coaster ride of emotions in a movie. But, one scene which gained all the attention was when Cassius Green faces the reality that the company which helped him in getting out of poverty is using people like Chattel in quite a weird way. But, it was the entry of a horse-person falling out of a bathroom stall which came out a big surprise.
5. The Truth Why They Separated – Three Identical Strangers:
We have to say that the truth of these identical strangers was one of the darkest moments of the year as it was revealed that it was the Nefarious Adoption Agency which separated these three identical twins on purpose as there is a scientist in the story who wanted to know the effects of Nature vs. Nurture and it is revealed later that there are a lot more twins like them. It’s really sad and disgusting for sure.
4. The Dance – Suspiria:
The movie has a lot of weird moments but this one stands out from all those incredibly indigestible scenes. In this, Susie Bannion is dancing for her instructor in a room, played by Tilda Swindon.
Black magic played a brutal role in this scene as the dance of Susie started controlling the body of another dancer in a different room. After which the scenes of that dancer getting hammered on the mirrors and also breaking bones started coming in front of our eyes. The scene is really traumatic and is very very brutal.
3. Stevie’s Fall – Mid90s:
Well, the movie has this kid who is really cute and is the backbone of the movie named Stevie. The little boy is a kind of guy who never shies away from challenges but had a bad habit of doing almost anything in order to be called a cool guy. In one of such challenges, he wanted to follow his fellow friends to jump his skateboard in a way he can between two roofs.
But, the boy fell on the table down below and we all thought that he’s dead but the boy gets up which was a strange moment for us but got followed by a brutal moment as his whole head was covered with blood. It was insane to watch as watching a little kid in a condition like that was really traumatic.
2. The Chainsaw Duel – Mandy:
Well, how on earth can you miss the name of Nicolas Cage in a list of weird moments because the man has been part of many weird and insane movies in all these years. But, this is quite a strong one and also is one of the most brutal scenes. In this, we saw Nicolas Cage’s character, Red Miller in a state of revenge with the cult member and he finally gets his chance but in a chainsaw-duel. Yes, a chainsaw-duel, which was simply brutal, ridiculous, and full of blood.
1. The Snap – Avengers: Infinity War:
We have to say that this is the most talked about scene of the year as in Avengers: Infinity War, we saw Thanos snapping those fingers which wiped-off half of universe including some of our most beloved superheroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This moment, in particular, came right at the climax of the movie which simply broke all the records of social media trends in a second.
