DC and Marvel Superheroes

Peter Parker will always be the one and only, original web-slinger. But sometimes, it is nice to have some sort of upgrade. The Superior Spider-Man version is not actually Peter Parker. It is Doctor Octopus deciding to possess the body of Spider-Man, determined to become a better superhero than Peter could ever be. As Superior Spider-Man, Otto Octavius makes the guy not only famous and rich but also feared in the criminal underworld. When Peter Parker’s soul comes to collect his body back, Doc Oc willingly gives up control since he has already proved his point.

 2. Thor – King Thor

DC and Marvel Superheroes

What happens when you are the only thing standing between the Universe and total and complete annihilation? Thor becomes the King of Asgard after Odin’s death and assumes control of the powerful Odin Force. But to stop the Universe from collapsing into a lifeless crisp, Thor masters the entire arcana of magic to become a champion of the mystic arts. As King Thor, the God is immortal, invincible and a thousand times more powerful than any superhero on earth could ever be.

DC and Marvel Superheroes

King Thor even had control over life and death. He could resurrect not only himself but also anyone he ever wished to be alive. He used his powers for a variety of effects, including the ability to hurl balls of ice the size of entire galaxies at his opponent and survive the humongous pressures of the Earth’s core for hundreds of years.

 3. Batman – God of Knowledge

DC and Marvel Superheroes

The 2015 Superhero Crossover storyline of DC that was Darkseid War led to foundational changes within the DC Universe. After Darkseid is killed by his daughter in a power struggle with the help of the Anti-Monitor of another universe, the whole universe goes into a state of chaos. Without a God of Evil to give it balance, the forces of light overwhelm creation and all hell breaks loose.

DC and Marvel Superheroes

To stop things from escalating, Metron asks for the help of the Justice League only to be tricked by Batman into leaving his Mobius Chair, which then Batman sits upon next to become DC Universe’s new God of knowledge. With the Mobius Chair, Batman has all the knowledge in the universe that ever was, is and will be. The first question he asks the Chair is to what is the Joker’s identity. To that the Mobius Chair gives the answer that there are three jokers, not one, shattering Batman’s worlds and his understanding of the Clown Prince of Crime forever.

 4. Superman – Superman One Million

DC and Marvel Superheroes

Superman derives his immense power from solar energy. He is a living solar cell, absorbing the energy from the sun and converting it into his superhuman abilities. A mere 10-second exposure to the Sun is enough to keep Superman going throughout the day.

DC and Marvel Superheroes

So what happens when Superman decides to meditate in the heart of the sun for a period of 15,000 Earth years? How powerful does Superman then become? Turns out, his energy levels go god-like. As Superman One Million, Clark Kent’s body is now completely golden and he can literally break the fabric of time and reality to do whatever he wishes.

 5. Wolverine – Old Man Phoenix

DC and Marvel Superheroes

Wolverine is the original animal. You get in his way and expect yourself to be cut into a million pieces. Wolverine’s incredible healing factor and his knack for violence make him a difficult opponent to defeat even for experienced super-villains.

DC and Marvel Superheroes

In one storyline, Wolverine absorbs the power of the Phoenix Force. As Old Man Phoenix, Wolverine’s powers are now of a cosmic nature and transcends the realm of reality. In his berserker state, Wolverine is now capable of destroying entire galaxies and extinguishes countless stars with a whim.

 6. Tony Stark – Superior Iron Man

DC and Marvel Superheroes

He may be a jerk and a moron when it comes to treating people the right way but inside, Iron Man is inherently a nice guy. He will whine and moan but when push comes to shove, Stark will do the right thing. Superior Iron Man does not share that same problem.

DC and Marvel Superheroes

He is through and through a bad guy. In the AXIS Storyline, Tony Stark becomes a supervillain and decides to build sleek and white armour out of upgraded Extremis technology of his own design. Superior Iron Man then decides to inject everyone in his city with the Extremis 3.0 Virus and provide free immortality. He then turns tail and starts charging the people with a daily fee of 99.99 USD for the people to keep on using this technology.

 7. Captain America – Soldier Supreme

DC and Marvel Superheroes

Steve Rogers may be the leader of the Earth’s mightiest heroes, but what makes him special is the fact that he is human. He does not possess any superpowers nor does he need any. All he has is his skill, tactics and his trusted shield to win any battle. But in one strange Infinity warps storyline, that aspect of the character was taken away.

DC and Marvel Superheroes

Captain America was now the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth now called the Soldier Supreme and he then had access to all sorts of magical weaponry and arts of the arcane as did a Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. Suffice it to say that this was one hell of an upgrade.

 8. Flash – God of Death

DC and Marvel Superheroes

As the living conduit to the mysterious Speed Force, the Flash is one of DC’s fastest beings. He is so fast that he can even outrun light. In the Darkseid War story arc, there appears to be one character that was faster than even the Flash. It was the Black Racer, DC’s God of Death for Speedsters.

DC and Marvel Superheroes

Since Speedsters can outrun death, Black Racer was made to be the fastest being in the universe and act as Death’s personal henchman. The Flash was chosen as the Black Racer’s next host and he had complete control over who would die and live in the Universe. That is a scary power and we are thankful that Barry had the conscience to reject it.

 9. Wonder Woman – Wonder Woman One Million

DC and Marvel Superheroes

In the distant 853rd Century, superheroes have expanded far and wide into the Cosmos. They now cover every nook and cranny of creation and protect the good guys from the bad ones. In this era, Wonder Woman’s legacy is survived by Wonder Woman one Million. She is actually a marble statue given life. She is also the Queen of an entire planet.

DC and Marvel Superheroes

Wonder Woman One Million has an array of abilities that are not found in the original Wonder Woman, giving her a distinct advantage over the latter. She has incredible telepathic powers and physiology so advanced that it is beyond human comprehension.

 10. Cyborg – Grid

DC and Marvel Superheroes

Not exactly a version of Cyborg as much as it was a former part of him, Grid is actually the cybernetic part of Victor Stone that achieved sentience after the events of Trinity War. The only limitation to Cyborg achieving his true potential was his human brain. Although many heroes considered it to be Cyborg’s true strength, all of Cyborg’s powers came from his bio-mechanical parts.

DC and Marvel Superheroes

Cyborg’s robotic half was created from a mother box and started collecting data as soon as Cyborg came into being. After separating itself from Cyborg and becoming a truly analytical entity without the limitations of the human element, Grid became an overlord of technology. With one swing of his finger, he managed to shut down all electronic devices on Earth.

DC and Marvel Superheroes

Grid also had a vast arsenal of weapons at his disposal and had an extremely tactical mind, which made him a huge asset for the Crime Syndicate of Amerika, where he became their man behind the screens and coordinated all their operations.
