Captain Marvel is going to be the new face of Marvel and its marketing is on a rise right now. She is the superhero we know little of as she will join the MCU this March only. People have questions about her in mind, majorly about the source of her powers and though some of you might know the answer, for those who don’t know, we are bringing the whole case in consideration.
Recently Marvel released another Captain Marvel trailer, which arguably is the best one from the Studios so far, as, in this one, we got real glimpses of all the powers of Captain Marvel. Also, the trailer shows the tone, style and unique look of Captain Marvel which we are going to see in the movie. But one question is on everyone’s lips that from where she is getting all these powers?
Well, if we talk about the Marvel lore, then it is Dr. Walter Lawson, a brilliant Kree spy who was working with Carol Danvers at the U.S. Air Force when the incident happened in the space in which we all know that the pair was on the edge of death as a Kree device by the name ‘Psyche-Magnetron’ blasted in front of them.
But, the explosion went on to give them some human-Kree hybrid and then Mar-Vell intervened and saved Carol’s. Both of them got affected by that blast and it was Carol who got the ‘Cosmic Powers of Ms. Marvel’. But, right now we don’t know a lot about the things the filmmakers are going to show us and whether they’ll go for this origin arc or not in the movie.
If we take a sharp look at the trailers then we will find that the movie has some sort of space battle and we can also see the aerial chase and fight between the Skrull and Kree empires. But no specific details haven’t been shown yet regarding when their war comes to the planet Earth except the fact that there’s a dogfight going on between the U.S. Air Force, the Skrulls, and the Kree.
There are reports that the fight brought down the leader of Skrull, Talos whose role has been portrayed by Ben Mendelsohn, Commander of Kree Starforce Yon-Rogg whose role has been portrayed by Jude Law, and Carol Danvers whose character is played by Brie Larson in front of each other on the same field.
And that’s when the blast happens and the injured Carl Danvers realizes the green blood in her body and that’s the moment she discovers her Captain Marvel powers. There are two explanations of this transformation and both are listed down below:
Secret Cameo:
There are a lot of speculations that Mar-Vell is going to be in the movie because he is such an important character of Captain Marvel’s origin arc and if we talk about the theory then it suggests that Mar-Vell is lying on the floor with Carol either on the earth in pursuit of catching Skrulls alongside Yon-Rogg or is just on earth for some time.
There are chances that Mar-Vell would get vaporized by the effects of the blast and all of his cosmic powers will get merged into Carol Danvers’ body. After knowing this, Yon-Rogg would take care of Carol Danvers because he knows that she has a human body with Mar-Vell’s powers in it. So, he would try to mold and control her.
Daddy Issues:
In other prediction, they’re talking about the possibility that Mar-Vell is the father of Captain Marvel after he fell in love with a human woman and they both gave birth to Carol Danvers and when that explosion happened in space, it simply activated all the hidden powers of his father in her body. Also, this is the reason why there are chances that we will see that Carol is quite superior to the other kids of her age.
